Our two "Cottages" and converted "Barn" ~ are available
all year.
Located on the southern coastline of the Island of South Ronaldsay, we
are connected to "mainland" Orkney by what is known as the Churchill
Barriers.
With stunning views over the Pentland Firth towards mainland Scotland.
An abundance of wildlife awaits with many birds & seals, the occasional
whale or two, heath, flora & funa, coastal walks and our interesting
neighbour, "Tomb of The Eagles" is within walking distance.
Guests can choose between "self catering" or "full or
part board" as we have our own recently opened licensed restaurant
offering refreshments, from a snack to full restaurant facilities or just
to relax with a glass of wine or savour a dram or two.

Banks Barn
Self catering for up to 5 maximum.
The double bedroom on the lower level of this property is suitable for
disabled guest and has meadow views.
The upper bedroom with seaviews of the Pentland Firth and Pentland Skerries
has a queen and single bed and can be split into 3 singles.
Toilet with shower and basin.
Lounge/dining area with table and chairs.
A comfortable sofa, TV and video, radio/tape/CD player.
Fully fiitted kitchen ~ cooker, ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge,freezer
and combination microwave
Heating is by central heating with electric fire in lounge.
Bed linen and towels are provided within the tariff, as is heat and electricity.
Rooms: 1 triple (upper level), 1 double (lower level, suitable for disabled).
The kitchen is totally enclosed.

Seal Cottage
Seal cottage was refurbished in 2006 to a high standard. 3* tourist board
rated.
The cottage has an easterly outlook across open fields and a westerly
view accross the garden with a glimps of the sea. It ajoins Sea View cottage
with identical layout, except Seal cottage has a feature stone wall and
fire insert. Fitted out to a comfortable and modern high standard, is
ideally suited to a "couple" with the facility to accommodate
an additional 2 guests* Double bed bedroom + (*double bed settee in lounge
area)
Comprising:
Double bedroom:.....................duvet and linen provided, electric
blanket, heater and radio alarm.
Toilet& Shower room:..............towels provided together with basic
toiletries supplied. Electric towel rail.
Kitchen ~ lounge area..............open plan kitchen and lounge area,
comprehensively equipped with:
Electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster. Place settings
for 4 and a variety of utensils for cooking.
Table and 4 chairs, Sofa bed (additional 2 guests), two modern arm chairs,
TV ~ Video, CD player, radio and tape player. Electric fire and radiator.
Electricity is provided for within the tariff.
Ample car parking is available. Well behaved pets by request. A supplement
will be applied except to guests with a guide dog.
Seaview Cottage
Sea View cottage was refurbished in 2007 and has been awarded 3* by Scottish
Tourist Board.
The compact cottage has a southerly outlook over the Pentland Firth and
is fitted out to a comfortable and high standard. It is ideally suited
to a "couple" with the facility to accommodate an additional
2 guests*

Getting to Banks
(By car) ~ Once on the Island from your chosen arrival point and carrier,
from all points it is necessary to travel south
to the Island of South Ronaldsay.
The road running from Kirkwall and St Margarets Hope (A961) leads to Burwick
(the arrival point of the summer only foot ferry from John O Groats)
As you are approaching the southern tip of the Island, follow the directions
to Tomb of The Eagles wich is a left turn before arrival to Burwick.
This road leads to Cleat and a right turn will take you to the approach
for the Tomb of The Eagles. Banks, is a continuation of the road, passing
the left turn to the Tomb to arrive at the end of the road and "Banks".
