The Loons Cottage is situated in a peaceful location overlooking one of the best RSPB bird reserves in Britain, "The Loons". The patio door offers spectacular views and opportunities to observe and listen to the birds while having your meals. The surrounding landscape in mainly stock farming with cows and calves grazing in the fields. A 1.5 mile walk/drive takes you to Marwick Shore and Marwick Head where you can see the birds nesting and breeding on the cliff edges. An ideal base for walking, cycling, fishing or just relaxing at this tranquil location. From
ferry turn right proceed along Ferry Road for one and half miles, turn
left onto A966/A967 (Birsay) until Voy Junction, then turn right Twatt/Birsay

left at Church Bay of Skaill B9056/RSPB Loons Bird Reserve proceed for
one and half miles. House on left before bird hide.
