Activities and Attractions
Journeys covering the length and breath of Scotland can be achieved from Achnabobane - with plenty of time to spend when you get to your chosen destination, within reason of course.

Previous guests have travelled as far north as Thurso and Castle of Mey and even across to Edinburgh, although they do admit the Islands, except Skye, are a little more tricky to 'do' in a day!

Or take the Road to the Isles (A830) northwest from Fort William to end at the fishing port of Mallaig. This is one of Scotland's most scenic routes, with both road and the famous West Highland Steam railway (of Harry Potter fame) running through a region of rugged grandeur.

Along the way, why not stop off at Glenfinnan where the monument commemorates Bonnie Prince Charlie's uprising stands in a setting of incomparable scenic beauty. Opposite Loch Sheil and the monument, is the now famous multi-arched Glenfinnan Viaduct.

Further on the great mountains give way to an equally stunning coastline around Arisaig and beyond. The beautiful White Sands of Morar that featured in the film Local Hero, are yet another draw to this spectacular region.

Alternatively, you can simply chill out and enjoy the local area, famed for its wide variety of outdoor pursuits, wildlife and numerous attractions and places of interest to see.

From Fort William:
Travel north passing the brown road sign on the left indicating Aonach Mor Ski Centre, past a low white building on the left side of the road, (easily identified by the painted black cow on the side of the building), through the double bend sequence and look out on the left hand side, for a brown tourism sign declaring B&B and a thistle symbol, in a field, a big sign stating Achnabobane, Red Deer, Trout Fishing, just beyond that is a lane to the left.

Clearly marked by a huge brown tourism pointer sign opposite the junction indicating Achnabobane Farmhouse B&B. If you get to Spean Bridge, you have gone too far!!

From Spean Bridge:
We are 2 miles south, on the way to Fort William. Past the Little Chef Restaurant on the left, keep a lookout for the small crossroads to Leanachan Forest (left) and Kilmonivieg (right), a bout 800 metres beyond that on the left is a huge brown Tourism sign warning of the turning To Achnabobane Farmhouse, 250 metres beyond that, on the left, is the brown Tourism pointer sign indication Achnabobane Farmhouse.
