Guest House was built in 1891 Argyle House is steeped in history,
first known as the Argyle Temperance Hotel.
It has evolved to a cosy bed and breakfast retreat in this charming village
which is centrally located in the Cairngorm National park.
Tomintoul, located on the Crown Estate of Glenlivet, is the highest village
in the highlands, lying at a height of 1170 ft (356m), and proudly claims
to be the North East gateway to the park.

Argyle Guest House has a total of 6 rooms offering a variety for almost
anyone family rooms, twin rooms as well as double rooms, simply decorated
and very spacious.
Four of the rooms are en-suite leaving only two with a large shared bathroom
on the same floor.
Each room boasts a television and tea and coffee making facilities, as
well as complimentary WI-FI.
In the breakfast room there is a buffet of cereals, yoghurt and berries
with fresh home made bread, and then you can choose from one of our hot
options such as the full cooked Scottish breakfast, slow cooked creamy
oats, smoked salmon and eggs or eggs benedict.

Getting there from the Information Centre
Continue on the Main Street 150 metres from Tomintoul Tourist Information
Centre right next door to the Whisky Castle
Getting There by Car
From Elgin on A96, take the A941 to Ballindalloch.
Continue through Ballindalloch and take the next left signposted B9136
for Tomintoul which is approximately 13 miles.
Alternatively, from Inverness take the A9 south to Carrbridge (approximately
23 miles) and then take the A938 to Grantown-on-Spey (approximately 11
miles).
From Grantown take the A95 signposted Elgin towards the village of Cromdale
and continue for approximately 2 miles taking the right turn for Tomintoul
onto the A939 for approximately 14 miles.
On reaching Tomintoul, Argyle Guest House is on the Main Street
Getting There by Railway
The closest rail link is Aviemore which has links from Edinburgh.
Car hire is available at the station.
Getting there by Aeroplane
The closest airport is Inverness to the north of Tomintoul and is approximately
one hour’s drive.
The alternative is Aberdeen which is to the east and is approximately
2 hours away.
There is car hire available at both locations.
