Tomintoul
Youth Hostel is a small friendly hostel with great facilities
set in the refurbished village school.
Tomintoul is a wonderfully lush and fertile area, most famous for the
three 'W's: whisky, walking and wildlife.
The drive from our hostel in Aviemore to the west or Braemar from the
south are both spectacular, whatever the season.

Attractions
The Speyside Way enables walkers to visit many local distilleries, including
Tamdhu, Knockando, Aberlour, Glenfiddich and Balvenie.
Many wonderful low and high level walks also exist on the nearby Glenlivet
estate.
Activities
Activities such as cycling, horse riding, skiing and fly-fishing are all
popular here, whilst further away breeding ospreys can be viewed at Loch
Garten.

Bus
Citylink to Aviemore from Glasgow, Inverness or Edinburgh.
Bus service 338 from Aviemore rail station to Delnashaugh (Hotel)- Mon-Fri.
Delnashaugh (War Memorial) to Tomintoul on Bus service 363.
Car
From Aviemore, take the A95 towards Granton-on-Spey.
Then follow the A939 to Tomintoul.
Hostel is on the Main Street, towards the southern end.
Foot
Very steep hills to Tomintoul, only recommended for serious walkers.
Many routes bring you into Tomintoul from Braemar & Aviemore (20+
miles).
Train
Train to Aviemore from Glasgow, Inverness or Edinburgh.
Then take bus as above.
Taxi from Aviemore cost approx.
