Ullapool, an appealing port and resort in Wester Ross, the fishing port of Ullapool in Wester Ross comes alive in summer when it receives a large influx of holidaymakers. Many move on by ferry to Stornoway on Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, but it is a good base for exploring the area, and has a marvellous setting jutting out into Loch Broom. Attractions include the award-winning Ullapool Museum and a multitude of craft shops and galleries.

Ullapool Accommodation Welcome!

We have now been operating since 2005, and we are so pleased that the cottage remains popular with both new and return guests. All our guests have left wonderful comments in our Guest Book not only about the cottage but also about Ullapool and the surrounding area.

Tigh na Reultan is committed to the principles of the Walkers and Cyclists Welcome Scheme and has been approved to cater for the needs of Walkers and Cyclists.

This is a family run business and therefore every effort is made to ensure that your stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible and that you go away with fond memories of your time with us and will hopefully return again.

Tigh na Reultan Accommodation

The accommodation comprises of lounge, kitchen with dining area, family bathroom with electric shower over bath, two large bedrooms - one with a double bed and the other, family room, with a double bed and single bed, each bedroom also has a heated towel rail.

The lounge has Television, Video Recorder, DVD Player, Radio/CD Player. A selection of DVD's, videos and books are available. The Kitchen/Dining Area is well equipped with Oven/Hob, Washer/Dryer, Fridge/Freezer, Integrated Dishwasher, Microwave, Toaster, Kettle, Crockery, Cutlery, Dining Table and Chairs, High Chair, Iron and Ironing Board. One Tea Towel and one Hand Towel.

The bedrooms have Bed Linen, Hairdryer, Alarm Clock, Heated Towel Rail, Travel Cot, Cot Linen and Child's Bed Side Rail.

In the bathroom towels are provided (one bath and one hand towel per guest), Bath Mat, Electric Shower over Bath, Shaver Socket, Baby Bath Seat, Baby Bath and Toddler Step.

There is private parking and a garden with patio area to the rear of the cottage. The garden has a Washing Line and Pegs, Garden Table and Chairs. Fully controlable electric heating is installed in all rooms.

A large, secure, heated shed is situated at the rear of the property which is ideal for storing bikes and for drying outdoor clothing and boots.

For your enjoyment, the price of the cottage includes FREE access to our Leisure Centre. You can enjoy many activities including swimming, gym, exercise classes, badminton, tennis, and for our younger guests - Family Fun Sessions with Bouncy Castle and the Loch Broom Monster!!

· an additional charge is made for electricity but please note that the cottage is well insulated and double glazed;
· the cottage has a NO SMOKING policy; and
· NO PETS are allowed.

Things to See and Do
Ullapool is an ideal base for those wishing to tour the beautiful Northern Highlands and take advantage of the many outdoor activities available, alternatively you may wish to just take it easy and soak up the atmosphere, charm and history of this wonderful coastal village. Why not have a look at Ullapool's Events Diary to see what is happening during your planned visit.

The village has many amenities including restaurants (which cater for different tastes from traditional Highland dishes to Indian cuisine), Chinese Take Away, pubs - many with live music, craft shops, chemist, bakery, butcher and supermarket.

Ullapool is very proud of its Pipe and Drums Band and Highland Dancers. They are truly an inspirational and
wonderful sight to see!

The Pipes, Drums and Highland Dancers of the Ullapool and District Junior Pipe Band can be seen marching though the village during the Summer Season (weather permitting). They provide a weekly performance ay the "Cal Mac"
Car Park of some wonderful Scottish Music and a selection of traditional Highland Dances.

Our Leisure Centre with Swimming Pool and Gym provides varied activities and during the holiday periods the centre runs family fun sessions with a bouncy castle. There are also four local outdoor play areas for children.

Why not visit our local Golf Course or for those willing to travel out of the village there are some wonderful white sandy beaches to explore.

Destination Ullapool
Although beautiful, rugged and remote are words often used to describe our area, we also have another word to add – accessible. Ullapool & Wester Ross stand at the gateway to and from all points north, south, east & west.

By Car:
From Inverness in the east, Ullapool lies circa 60 miles or 100km west along the easy to drive A835 through stunning scenery. An hour’s drive with many places of interest and rest stops along the way. Gairloch lies circa 50 miles or 80km to the south along the scenic A832 passing by Loch Maree, Gruinard & Dundonnell lying at the feet of mighty An Teallach.

The road north leads to Achiltibuie circa 20 miles away past the striking heights of Stac Polaidh & Suilven and sweeping along the beautiful beaches of Ardmair, Achnahaird & Achmelvich. Drive further north to Lochinver, Scourie & Durness to reach the stunning north coast.

Public Transport:
Whilst every effort is made to ensure that the details on public transport are correct, these details do change depending on weather, ferry requirements, time of year etc. Please check with the operator prior to traveling to ensure you have the correct information.

Bus Companies - Citylink Coaches / Stagecoach Bus operate a bus service from Inverness to Ullapool. Stagecoach also operate a service north of Ullapool to/from Drumbeg. The Westerbus also operates from Inverness to Gairloch connecting with an Ullapool service at Braemore Junction on a Mon, Wed & Saturday.

D & E coaches also operate a summer service from Inverness to Dingwall, through Strathpeffer to Ullapool and onwards north to Lochinver, Scourie and Durness.

By Sea:
To Scotland from Europe, check out details of the ferry from Belgium to Rosyth, near Edinburgh – a pleasant 3-4 hour drive from Ullapool.The beautiful Western Isles lie 2 ½ hrs west of Ullapool across the Minch. Take a look at the Caledonian MacBrayne web site for full travel details.

Note also that there are additional Sunday sailings on certain Sundays through the summer.

By Air:
