The Popa Falls in the Okavango River are a unique attraction as the only falls in this long river.
Located in the east of the Kavango Region, in what was previously known as the Caprivi Strip, this area has an abundance of fresh water and is therefore home to more than 400 bird species and incredible wildlife.
Shametu River Lodge offers a magnificent view of the Popa Falls and is not only an ideal stopover for tourists travelling between Etosha in Namibia, the Okavango Delta in Botswana, and the Victoria Falls or the KAZA (Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Park), but also a luxurious haven to unwind in during your journey.

Eighteen Luxury Chalets with thatched roofs offer guests en-suite bathroom facilities and accommodation for two persons per chalet.
The beds are covered with mosquito nets, and a lounge area with tea/coffee-making facilities is provided.

Luxury Tented Chalets
The four Luxury Tented Chalets at Shametu River Lodge are built on stilts on the banks of the river, offering a spectacular view of the Popa Falls.
Mosquito nets cover the beds, and there is an en-suite bathroom and lounge area in each tented chalet. Two persons are accommodated in each tented chalet.

Campsites
Seven campsites, accommodating up to four persons per site, have been laid out on green lawns under shady trees.
