An excellent retreat for families or groups, Bayhouse is a double
storey self-catering house with six bedrooms, nestled on Leisure
Island on the famous Knysna Lagoon with prime beach frontage and
stunning views of the Heads. A double storey home on Leisure Island, a private retreat within
the famous Knysna Lagoon, it opens out onto 50m of private beach

Bayhouse Accommodation
The house offers reams of space, with 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and 3
lounges spread across two floors.
The main lounge boasts a fireplace, open-plan dining room and bar/breakfast
counter area. If you need it, there is satellite TV, a DVD player, books
and games galore.
While away the days on the outdoor patio with a sparkling swimming pool
and barbeque area, complete with wooden table and benches for al fresco
dining.
There is a fully equipped kitchen and scullery with a range of basic supplies.
The six bedrooms can be configured as twins or doubles, each reflecting
the whitewashed feel of a seaside retreat, and there are additional facilities
for babies and infants.
There is a garage which can host two cars and extra off-street parking
for two more vehicles. The house can accommodate a maximum of 10 people
and can be booked for a minimum of four, with the charge being per person,
not for the whole house.

The Bayhouse allows you to escape the hustle and bustle of Knysna and relax in your own private sanctuary. Leisure Island is nestled within the Knysna Lagoon and boasts some rather lovely beaches, ideal for swimming, fishing, sailing or just strolling along the white sands.
The house opens out onto 50m of beach frontage and the views of the Heads
will mesmerize you. The island connects to the mainland with a causeway,
just 10 minutes from town so you can join the crowds when you feel like
it. Or relax in your double storey house, bask beside the swimming pool
and just take in your surroundings - you are on holiday after all!
Directions:
If you are visiting South Africa from abroad, you will probably
fly to either Cape Town or Johannesburg. From these airports you can take
a domestic flight to George.
There are several budget airlines that fly between Johannesburg and George.
George is less than one hour's drive from Knysna and offers a wide range
of car hire companies.
Alternatively, you can drive directly from Cape Town to Knysna in around 5 hours on the N2. The route takes you across some amazing countryside. The R62 is an alternative scenic route, particularly if you are planning to visit Montague and/or Oudtshoorn.
From George airport, follow the N2 to Knysna, passing
Wilderness and Sedgefield. On entering Knysna, continue along Main Street,
passing through town until you reach the turn-off into George Rex Drive.
Turn right here and follow the signs to Leisure Isle. You will pass the
Knysna Golf Course on your left. At the causeway, turn right onto Armstrong
Drive to Leisure Isle.
Continue on the causeway until you reach a stop sign and the guard hut, where you will turn left. This road, Cearn Drive, will take you along the Knysna Lagoon waterfront which becomes Bayswater Drive, until you reach Bollard Beach. Just past Bollard Beach, on Bayswater Drive, is Bollard Road and we are on this corner! 105 Bayswater Drive.
