Stannards Guest Lodge is a 4-star guesthouse situated in a tree-lined suburb of Knysna on South Africa's scenic Garden Route. Set in a lush, indigenous garden, the lodge has an outdoor salt water swimming pool and barbeque area, covered off-street parking, a vast expanse of lawn and a number of beautiful trees which are home to more than 80 species of birds. Accommodation is provided in five stylishly decorated bedrooms, one luxury suite and two luxury self-catering garden cottages. The suites cater for all tastes, ideal for honeymooners, families, leisure or business travellers. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and a private patio with a view of the garden. |

Close to Knysna's town centre, beaches and golf courses, Stannards
is owned and managed by French couple Hélène-Marie
and Patrick Ceillier.
The guesthouse offers guests every conceivable comfort and convenience
and the warm hospitality and personalised service of your hosts who also
speak fluent English.

Stannards Guest Lodge offers either the B&B option
for its 6 suites, or the self-catering one for the 2 Luxury
Self-Catering Garden Cottages.
A delicious buffet breakfast is served each morning in
the sunny breakfast room or on the deck overlooking the garden. A cooked
breakfast is available on request.
Guests are encouraged to use the comfortable lounge with fireplace, and
the self-service 'honesty' bar which is equipped with a big screen television
for sports enthusiasts and a number of board games.
Guest House
Six stylish suites offer comfort and privacy for guests who appreciate tasteful furnishings and modern conveniences. All have been individually decorated in styles influenced by our travels around the world.
Each suite has its own entrance, private patio, full
en-suite bathroom with shower and/or bath, television with DStv, tea and
coffee making facilities, ceiling fan and built-in wardrobe and desk.
Extra comfort is provided in the form of electric and spare blankets,
panel heaters and luggage racks.
Abracadabra – Luxury Suite:
Romantic, airy and prettily decorated, the Luxury Suite is for the young
at heart and features king size bed
(twin beds option available), queen size sleeper couch, bathroom with
a large shower and private patio where you can enjoy your coffee while
you listen to the early morning chatter of the birds.
Ideal for honeymooners or families (this
room can sleep up to 2 adults and 2 kids under 12).
Pondichery:
Decorated in the rich colours of India and with art works collected on
our travels, this private corner suite has king size bed (twin beds option
available).
Ashanti:
Named after the African fertility doll, Ashanti embodies the mystery of
Africa in the rich colours of the décor. It has two single beds.
Fleur:
Bright and colourful, with fabrics and furnishings in hues of lime green
and pink, this queen-bedded suite reflects the beauty of the garden onto
which it looks.
Africa:
A perennial favourite with guests, this African-inspired suite with king-sized
bed and is decorated with art works and fabric collected on our travels
throughout Africa.
Umiama:
A combination of the words 'water' and 'mountain' in Japanese, Umiama
reflects the tranquility and simplicity of Eastern décor styles
with its clean lines and neutral tones. It has king size bed (twin beds
option available).
Self Catering Cottages
Located at the bottom of the leafy garden, with complete privacy and direct access to the swimming pool and barbeque area, the cottages are ideal for long stays. Both terraces are overlooking the garden.
Luxury Self-Catering Garden Cottage For 2:
This 50sqm unit consists of a cosy lounge, an open plan kitchen and a
Double Room (king size bed) with en-suite bathroom with a large shower.
Ideal for honeymooners or golfers. This unit can sleep up to 3 adults
or 2 adults and 2 kids under 12.
Luxury Self-Catering Garden Cottage For 4:
This 100 sqm unit includes a lounge, an open plan kitchen and two bedrooms
(king size bed and twin beds) each with en-suite bathroom with large showers.
Ideal for families or two couples travelling together. This unit can sleep
up to 5 adults or 4 adults and 2 kids under 12.

The Garden Route includes one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline, whose starting point is constantly contested as towns such as Witsand, Stillbaai and Albertinia join the route that winds its way for some 200 km via George, Wilderness, Sedgefield and Knysna on to Plettenberg Bay and culminating in the Tsitsikamma Forest - a fairyland of giant trees, ferns and bird life.
Knysna is synonymous with fine indigenous timbers and famed for the craftsmanship
of its furniture and timber products.
The area is a veritable Garden of Eden: home to the only forest elephant
in South Africa, the unique Knysna seahorse and the Pansy shell, the brilliantly
coloured Knysna Loerie, a plethora of waterfowl and forest birds, dolphins
and visiting whales.

How to get to Stannards Lodge Guest House:
Coming from George on the N2 turn right (from Plettenberg Bay turn left)
into George Rex Drive
(direction Heads/Leisure Isle/Industrial Area).
After the traffic light, turn at the 2nd left (direction Hunters Village/Hunters
Home) on Howard Street. Pass the Knysna Golf Club entrance on your right.
Keep straight. Follow our sign boards to the top of the hill, you can't
miss us!
