The Colonial on Arundel Bed & Breakfast is set in the picturesque, malaria free Sundays River Valley bordering the Addo National Elephant Park and a short 45 minutes drive from the Port Elizabeth airport.

The four star graded, superior rated Colonial on Arundel Bed & Breakfast is a magnificent period home, offering olde world colonial luxury on a serene working citrus farm.

This Addo retreat with its luscious gardens, spacious and luxurious suites is owner managed by Molly and Conor O'Hagan Ward, former hoteliers and game lodge partners.

The Colonial is located a short 15 minutes from the Addo Elephant National Park, and close to the many other private game reserves which offer day visitors a Big Five wildlife experience right on our doorstep.
The Addo Elephant National Park was established in 1931 to save 11 Elephants on the brink of extinction and is home to Elephant, Lion, Cape Buffalo, Black Rhino, the rare Flightless Dung Beetle and a range of Antelope species. Experience the spectacular natural beauty on offer in Addo Elephant Park first hand with one of our in-house guided game drives and tours.

The Colonial is situated on a lovely peaceful Addo Citrus Farm, which is central to all of the Addo attractions and activities.
After an exciting in-house game drive through the Addo Elephant National Park, relax, reflect and recharge in the large bird filled garden, take a stroll around the orchards or relax alongside your lovely swimming pool with a favourite novel.

The Colonial on Arundel Accommodation

The Colonial Bed and Breakfast features two large, spacious and airy luxury king sized suites. The Colonial suites are fitted with climate controlled bedroom-queen sized double bed, electric blankets, Percale linen or down duvets.
A Private lounge leading onto a small patio overlooking the beautiful garden and swimming pool. The suites are fully serviced.

The Addo Elephant Park, Addo Reptile and Raptor Centre, Addo Elephant Back Safaris, Schotia Safaris and other Addo attractions will provide guests with hours of pleasure.

ADDO DIRECTIONS:
Take the N2 towards Grahamstown. Take the off ramp No. 761 on to the R335. Continue along this road in the direction of the Addo Elephant Park for +/- 40 kms. After passing through the village of Addo, take the R336 to Kirkwood (marked 31 kms).

Travel along this road for 3kms passing the Sundays River Valley Co-op (on the right), the station of HERMITAGE and the Addo Polo Grounds (on the left).
The next dirt road to the left is called the RIETFONTEIN ROAD. Turn on to this road, go over the railway line which is active from April to October for the movement of Addo citrus, over the little bridge on the Coerney River and 500 metres up the road on the right is our entrance.

Colonial on Arundel guests are encouraged to enjoy a relaxing stroll amongst the orchards, taking in the sights and scents of a working Addo citrus farm, pick fruit during the various seasons and enjoy a freshly squeezed glass of their own orange juice before setting out on one of the numerous exciting and different Addo Activities on offer. The Greater Addo area presents activities such as canoeing, fishing, horse riding and mountain trips.

The Addo Elephant Back Safari experience allows guests to interact with the Addo elephants, ride them, feed them and walk freely in the bush with elephants.

Addo Elephant National Park Horseback Trails though the Addo Bushveld which will bring guests closer to nature, elephants and other wild animals that roam freely in the Addo Elephant National Park.

Addo Spa Treatments present relaxation, personal rejuvenation and serious pampering with wonderful Spa Facilities available to our guests.
