Lowestoffe and Rooken have been in the family for four generations while Woodhouselea and Rockford Park were acquired in 2002. Sheep and cattle form the backbone of the farming enterprise while the farm has been home to the Africa’s Sport Horse Stud since 1994.
Lowestoffe Country Lodge Accommodation
Lowestoffe Country Lodge consists of three spacious houses, epitomising comfortable farm accommodation at its best. Each lodge is privately situated as they are located on separate farms, with expansive views of the surrounding pastures and mountains.
The decor is tasteful and simple, providing a “home away from home” experience. As the nights can be rather chilly, especially in autumn and winter, there is the added luxury of a duck down duvet and an electric blanket on each bed.
Trout Lodge
This attractive, up-market lodge was built in 1990 and is located on Lowestoffe
Farm. It overlooks the main trout dam and is therefore a favourite amongst
those keen on fly fishing. It is also within walking distance of the stables
from which horse trail rides are conducted.
Trout Lodge has an open plan living area with a free-standing fireplace for cosy winter evenings, 4 bedrooms (two double and two twin rooms).
Rockford Lodge
The lodge is situated on Rockford Farm which was acquired in July 2002
and is about 10 kilometer from Hogsback. The setting is magnificent with
a poplar forest on the one side and beautiful views directly in front
of the house looking towards the well-known Klipplaat River.
The opportunity to explore this river frontage beckons, whether to have a picnic or to find a deep, silent pool from which to cast a line for yellow fish. It has 4 bedrooms (one double and three twin rooms), a large open plan living area which is effectively heated by a free-standing fireplace.
Woodhouselea
The lodge is situated on the Woodhouselea Farm about 12 kilometer outside
of the village of Hogsback. It is a charming, old farmhouse built in the
early 1900s and nestled at the base of the Elandsberg Mountain with breathtaking
views in all directions.
The wide passage, wooden floors, spacious rooms and huge main bedroom epitomise old style farm living at its best.
Woodhouselea has 4 bedrooms (two double and two twin rooms), a large living room as well as a separate dining room. All three of these rooms have built in fireplaces, which are essential to warm the house on chilly nights.
