Casart Game Lodge is situated in the unspoilt bush area of the breathtakingly beautiful nature reserve, Grietjie.
This private park, 3000 ha in size, is fully integrated in the magnificent Balule Nature Reserve, which – with its 35000 ha – borders and has an open connection with the world-famous Kruger National Park.

The Oliphants river meanders its way through Balule and brings water to the parks the whole year round. At the river banks you’ll find hippos, crocodiles, etc.
Guests can, but don’t have to leave the lodge to observe wildlife. From the central deck near the pool or from the lounge, guests can enjoy watching a herd of elephants, kudus, zebras quenching their thirst at the watering place.

Luxurious Rondavels
We offer 2 double-bedded rondavels, both have their own private terrace with hot tub (Jacuzzi). Every rondavel comes with a king-size bed, separate toilet and a bathroom with bath and spacious shower.

4 Person Self Catering Guesthouse
This accommodation has 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with spacious shower. Both bedrooms have air-conditioning.

The kitchen is fully fitted to enable preparing yourself a good meal: a gas fire with 3 burners, refrigerator with freezer, microwave and all kitchen appliances you may need. There is also a BBQ.

4 Person Guesthouse
If you don’t feel like cooking and want to enjoy our excellent kitchen, you can also book the guesthouse inclusive of breakfast and dinner. These can be served on your own private terrace, in the middle of the bush.

You can enjoy a refreshing dive in our swimming pool. It is surrounded by a large deck where comfortable deck chairs are at your free disposal.

Lunch is always available at request. When you want to go on a day trip, we can make you a packed lunch. For breakfast you can choose between a sumptuous continental or English breakfast.
When you have special wishes, we are always prepared to help you out. Casart Game Lodge wants to treat its guests to culinary delights. With a good mix of European and South-African dishes. Every dinner consists of 3 courses.

Privacy and peace and tranquillity are very important to us. Therefore, if you want, we can serve breakfast on your own private deck, without any supplement.

Game Drives
The game drives, which take place both mornings and evenings, are an excellent opportunity to get to know the fauna and flora of Grietjie. Our English-speaking, highly qualified field guide will give you an unforgettable experience in his open vehicle. He will be happy to share his inexhaustible knowledge with you. If the language would be a problem, we will help you.
Bush Walks
Beside the daily game drives we also offer the opportunity to explore the bush in a more sporty manner under the guidance of our game ranger. A 2- to 3-hour walk will enable you to experience live the pure nature of the bush.
Sleeping Under The Stars
Our ranger takes you with him to the middle of the bush. Here, you’ll pass the night on a field mat with sleeping bag. A night watch is organised so that every participant watches over the others for 1 to 2 hours.
Massages
If you want to take it easy, you can enjoy a wonderfully relaxing massage, during which you can dream away while your body relaxes. These massages (90´) can be given on your own private deck.
Yoga
Our teacher will be happy to teach you some basic yoga principles. These classes are suited for both beginners and more advanced yoga fans.

Casart Game Lodge is situated at 35km from the entry of the Kruger park. You can explore this immensely vast park, individually and using your own transport. We can also arrange transport and guides for you.
Playing Golf Surrounded by Giraffes and Buffaloes
Guests can play golf on the famous Hans Merensky golf course, near Phalaborwa. We can arrange for you initiation courses, material and a golf teacher.
Panoramic Route
The panoramic route along the Drakensberg, Blyde River Canyon and God's Window makes for a wonderful day trip.

How To Get To Casart Game Lodge

Via Lydenburg: (6.00 - 06.30 hours)
As from Johannesburg airport you take the N12 to Witbank and Belfast, turn left to Belfast and take the R540 in the direction of Dullstroom and Lydenburg.
From Lydenburg you take the R36 in the direction of Tzaneen / Hoedspruit. You drive past Orighstad and through the Strijdom tunnel. After the tunnel (circa 14 km) you turn left in the direction of Tzaneen (R36)

After 10 kilometres you turn right onto the R526 in the direction of Mica. After another 28km you arrive in Mica and turn left on the R40 to Phalaborwa.
About 27 km further on, follow the sign Grietjie, turn right onto the gravel track to Grietjie. Follow the signs to Casart Game Lodge (about 9 km). Welcome to Casart Game Lodge.

Via Polokwane: (highway - Toll road) (6.00 - 06.30 hours)
As from Johannesburg airport you take R 21 to Pretoria and than you follow N1 to Polokwane. From Polokwane you take R71 to Tzaneen and from Tzaneen you follow R71 to Mica (via Gravelotte).
From Gravelotte you go straight on via R40 to Mica. From Gravelotte it takes 35 kilometers to the T - junction with the R 530. There you turn left to Phalaborwa .

About 20 km further on, follow the sign Grietjie, turn right onto the gravel track to Grietjie. Follow the signs to Casart Game Lodge (about 9 km). Welcome to Casart Game Lodge.
