Royal Olifants Safari Lodge is situated in the Balule Nature Reserve within the Greater Kruger National Park in South Africa.
Located high up on the edge of the Olifants River, guests will be enchanted with the most beautiful panoramic views.

The perennial Olifants River is home to hippos and crocodiles allowing guests to watch their daily activities, in addition the river also attracts many other game species and is rich in bird life.
Set in the heart of the African bush, guests can experience the true wild Africa in luxury and comfort. The valley of the Olifants in the Lowveld is one of the last unspoilt corners of wild Africa.

There are 3 freestanding luxury cottages at the Royal Olifants Safari Lodge which can each accommodate 2 persons. Very spacious and comfortably furnished with the best quality sleeper wood which is reminiscent of colonial Africa. Rooms are tastefully decorated with a touch of ethnic and wildlife features.

Quality modern bathrooms are equipped with shower and bath. Each cottage is fully furnished with an air-conditioner, fan, fridge, and tea and coffee making facilities.
All cottages have breathtaking views of the river and bush from the verandas and picture windows, so that the splendour can be enjoyed from the privacy of the cottages.

Royal Olifants Safari Lodge also has 2 single rooms which are situated below the main lodge with their own river views. Each room has its own entrance and is complete with air-conditioner, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and modern bathroom with spacious shower.
These single rooms are perfect for families travelling with teenagers or for the single guest. Luxury meets with the wild at Royal Olifants. All our suites are tastefully furnished and offering modern comfort in the natural settings.

How To Get To Royal Olifants Safari Lodge

The Royal Olifants Safari Lodge can be reached by car in +/- 5 hours from Johannesburg. OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg has connecting flights to either Phalaborwa or Hoedspruit. We provide transfers from these local Airports to the Lodge by prior arrangement.

From Pretoria take the N4, or the N12 from Johannesburg, to Witbank. From Witbank travel via Belfast, Dullstroom, Lydenberg, Ohrigstad and the Abel Erasmus Tunnel to Hoedspruit.
Travel through Hoedspruit across the four-way stop in the centre of town, and over the railway bridge to the second four-way stop.

Turn left onto the R40 to Phalaborwa and after 16 km look out for the Balule, Olifants West Gate sign on the left-hand side, indicating the main entrance on the right.
Upon entering Balule Nature Reserve, the security guard will direct you to Royal Olifants. Turn immediately left and follow the Maroelaweg.

Look out for the Singwe River Lodge sign on the left, indicating the entrance road to Singwe and Royal Olifants Safari Lodge.
Follow the road for a further 2 km and you will see the Royal Olifants sign on the left. Turn left and proceed to the main gate of the lodge.
