Ellerman House has nine en suite rooms each with their own character and two spacious suites with adjoining lounge.
Each room is decorated uniquely with precious South African art on the walls.

Ellerman House Luxury Hotel Accommodation

All rooms in Ellerman House and Ellerman Villa are en suite and spacious.
They all have flat screen satellite TV, under floor heating, air conditioning, Internet connections and a complimentary minibar.
All but one have magnificent views that allow you to experience the magnificence of a sunset over the Atlantic Ocean and Robben Island.

Under shady umbrellas, leafy trees or a deep blue starry night sky, newly weds can indulge in superb cuisine and wine in a romantic spot on the outdoor terrace.

Room Descriptions

Room One
Sea View Room with Balcony
Room One is sea-facing and spacious. Originally Lady Ellerman's bedroom, it is freshly decorated in shades of green and cream and has broad vistas of the Atlantic Ocean. The deck loungers outside on the balcony complement the look and feel of the interior.

Room Two
Sea View Room with Balcony
Room Two is sea-facing, offering magnificent ocean views from the bed. Decorated in subtle tones of aquamarine, beige and oyster, it has a large marble bathroom and a balcony with ample space for private al fresco dinners.

Room Four
Sea View Room with Balcony
Room Four is a generously proportioned ocean-facing room that opens out through two sets of double doors onto the largest private patio Ellerman House has to offer.
Ideally suited for honeymooners, the bedroom and sitting area is appointed in soft mauve, reflecting the romantic shades of a Cape twilight. A dramatic black slate bathroom includes a circular window to frame the sea view.

Room Five
Garden View Room with Balcony
Room Five offers ample interior space and soothing views of the natural rock and water garden. Neatly decorated in aquamarine and touches of beige and white, it has a cream marble bathroom and a secluded private balcony.

Room Six
Non Sea View Room
Room Six is one of the original rooms, located at the rear of the House, and is not sea-facing. It is elegantly decorated in soft greens with a bathroom finished in grey and salmon marble.

Suite Seven
Sea View Suite with Balcony
Room Seven is the Ellerman Suite, originally Lady Ellerman's art studio, consisting of a bedroom and dressing room and, a separate sitting room and study.
The bedroom décor combines soothing celadon green tones with a white and grey marble bathroom. The sitting room is decorated in contemporary aquamarine and white, with art and sculpture by leading South African artists. The balcony, which is accessible from both the sitting room and bedroom, offers sweeping views of the city and ocean from its elevated position in the eaves of the roof.

Room Eight
Partial Sea View Room with Balcony
Room Eight offers picturesque views of the garden and ocean. Possibly one of the prettiest rooms, it is elegantly coloured in soft rose and oatmeal. It has an intimate private balcony and marble bathroom with tranquil decor.

Room Nine
Sea View Room with Balcony
Room Nine is a split-level room with a nautical theme, decorated in navy blue and ivory with a marble bathroom in white and cream. Its private balcony overlooks the garden and offers panoramic ocean views.

Room Ten
Sea View Room with Balcony
Room Ten is a split-level room including a bedroom, seating area and balcony all with imposing views of the ocean, garden and pool. Finished in garden green and soothing shades of natural linen, its recently renovated bathroom is streamlined in 'cafe au lait' coloring.

East Wing Suite 11
Sea View Suite with Terrace
Room Eleven is the East Wing Suite. Distinguished by a large wraparound balcony with private access to the garden and pool, it has a raised bedroom area that can be closed off for complete privacy.
The lounge is decorated in caramel with lustrous gold and rich ivory silk taffetas, while the bedroom has gold and soft blue accents and, a cream marble bathroom with brass fittings. The elegant dining area has a table that seats eight for private dining or executive meetings.

Spa Pool Room
Spa Pool Room has a wooden deck alongside the infinity pool, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The décor is modern with minimalist furniture in coppery tones. The en-suite bathroom is finished in granite and earthy mosaics.

Spa Deck Room
Spa Deck Room is a large, contemporary design sea-facing room with low contrast earthy tones. Beautifully crafted beechwood complements the modern bathroom, which is a fusion of glass and granite.

Almost twenty years ago Paul Harris, owner of Ellerman House, set out to create a wine collection of unparalleled standards and quality. Each of the 7,500 bottles, housed in our professionally maintained cellar, represents the very best wines from the world renowned estates of the Western Cape.

Always on the lookout for new and exciting wines, our experienced operations manager sources wines from both established and emerging vineyards. We have a dedicated cellar for new releases, which we bring to maturity, and have the revolutionary Le Verre de Vin preservation system, which allows us to pour premium still and sparkling wines by the glass without compromising quality, giving you the widest choice of excellent wines.

Our collection also sources award winning vintages from prestigious wine auctions, such as Nederberg and the Cape Wine Makers Guild.
Our attention to detail has been recognized by the Diners Club Wine List Award, which gave us their highest accolade – a Diamond Award.
Our selection of rare and vintage wines, some going back to 1980, guarantee special moments at the table when combined with our exceptional menus, ensuring a memorable experience, never to be forgotten.

Ellerman House is distinguished from other fine hotels in South Africa by the Ellerman House Art collection. A recent addition is the opening of the magnificent Ellerman Contemporary gallery which provides guests with a glimpse of the outstanding talents of contemporary South African artists which complement those of the Masters in Ellerman House.

The grand collection of fine art is based on the sound principle of acquiring works of unquestionable quality. The owners have spent decades assembling a magnificent collection of the best South African artwork.

The originals span from the turn of the last century to current day works – from the 1910 Volschenk of an undeveloped Camps Bay, to the contemporary new art forms of Vusi Khumalo.
While the initial emphasis was on a collection of Cape paintings, as the collection grew, so did the scope. It now encompasses an intriguing cross section of genres and subject matter, which represent an overview of South Africa over the last hundred years.

Ellerman House is proud to announce the opening of its contemporary art gallery that shows a collection from some of South Africa’s young and contemporary artists that are bursting onto the international stage now that South Africa is emerging from its troubled past.
