DINING

CAFÉ JIRAN
We are located on the ground floor of the Belaire Suites Hotel on Durban’s North Beach. We have an outside deck where one can sip cappuccino and watch the passing parade.
All our meals are prepared on site with fresh seasonal ingredients by our skilled Chefs. We endeavor to use lower fats and natural sweeteners in our dishes.

Coffees are available in espresso, cappuccino, latte, Americano, French press, crushes and smoothies. We exclusively offer the best imported Chinese green teas : dragon well, flower, jasmine and white.
Our juices, smoothies and crushes are all made from fruit sourced directly from the Durban Farmers market or from farms in the Richmond Ixopo areas of the Natal Midlands.

Breakfast
Our breakfast menu is extensive and offers such tasty treats as Griddle Crumpets with wild berry compote and Frittatas made with grilled onion, cherry tomatoes and cheddar cheese.

Meals
Our all day menu offers a wide selection of fresh seasonal dishes including: wraps, quiches, crab cakes, salmon rosti, pastas, salads, gourmet burgers and sandwiches and more substantial meals such as sage and thyme chicken, lamb shank, Entrecote and daily curry.

Bistro Fine Dining
In the evening we offer our Bistro fine dining menu with starters, main and desserts. Our menu items are paired with a wine for maximum enjoyment.
Mains include: L’Entrecote on the bone with soufflé potatoes, brandied peppercorn and tarragon sauce; Rolled Chicken Mediterranean stuffed with roasted garlic, peppers and mozzarella; Country Oxtail on dhania mashed potatoes; Sage and Thyme Chicken on Thai style creamy coconut Udon noodles; Prawn and Mussel Parapadella; and Butternut and Spinach Tagliatalle.

Activities / Attractions
The Suncoast casino is 1km away. Summer Square shopping centre is just behind the building with a Medical Clinic, Pharmacy and a Pick n’ Pay.
There are Sports Facilities, Kings Park Rugby Stadium and a Swimming Pool just 1.5km away. You can visit Fun World, The Snake Park and Mini Town, 500m from our Suites.

Nature Reserves & Gardens
Nature Reserves allow you to get closer to nature, to really interact with the environment and animals, and to experience the sights, sounds and smells of the African bush.
There are a number of ways to experience this amazing outing. Game drives, horseback rides for the adventurous, along with the close proximity to the animals, and bush walks along the many trails within Durban, nature reserves are an exciting way to explore Africa.

The Valley of 1000 Hills
The Valley of 1000 Hills is a 25 minute drive west of the Durban City centre. The attractions include:
PheZulu Safari Park which offers game drives, restaurants with views over the valley, a snake and crocodile farm, and authentic Zulu culture, rituals and dancing.

Shongweni, Inanda and Hazelmere Dams
There are three major dams close to the city, offering exciting outdoor experiences. Enjoy game drives, nature trails, bird watching, canoeing, mountain biking, fishing, a variety of water sports and picnic sites.

Botanic Gardens
The Botanic Gardens, is one of Africa's oldest gardens. It is situated close to the city centre and i home to a collection of sub-tropical trees, palms and orchids.

uMngeni Green Hub
The Green Hub is Durban's central portal for eco-tourism information and bookings. Based at the uMngeni River Estuary, the Hub offers and arranges canoe trails, nature and heritage trails in the area and throughout Durban.

Suncoast Casino & Entertainment World
This is one of the biggest entertainment complex in Durban, there are casinos, restaurants and cinemas, night club cafe vacca matta, there are also conference facilities and a hotel. It is very close to Moses Mabhida Stadium as well as to many other hotels with the beach right at your doorstep.

Sibaya Casino & Entertainment Kingdom
This casino has over 1000 slots and just over 24 touch-bet roulette machines, and also Roulette, Blackjack and Poker tables.
There is also the iZulu Theatre, Krakatoa nightclub, and the Mangwanani Sibaya luxurious day spa. Sibaya is just about 25 minutes north of Durban.

Burn Nightclub
If you are into some rock, punk and the underground atmosphere, the Burn Nightclub is just 5 minutes from Florida Road.

Surfing
Surfing conditions can be found along the entire Durban beachfront, particularly New Pier, North Beach and Battery Beach.
For the more experienced surfers the Bluff and North Coast offer some powerful breaking waves and the South Coast is home to some world-class point breaks.

uShaka Marine World
One of the five largest aquariums in the world, with a Dolphinarium, a dive tank and snorkel reef. The uShaka Wet 'n Wild offers heart-stopping water slides and a 450m river ride which takes you past the shark tank. The uShaka Village Walk offers shopping and restaurants, and fine dining on the 'Phantom Ship'.

KZN Sharks Board
The KZN Sharks Board in Umhlanga has a display hall with life-size replicas of sharks, fish and rays, and offers a 25 minute presentation on the work they do and the importance of sharks in the marine ecosystem. You can also experience a 20 minute shark dissection.

How To Get To Belaire Suites

We are located opposite the beach between Battery Beach and North Beach on Snell Parade. We are 3 buildings away from the famous Blue Waters Hotel.
Access from the Berea is down Argyle Road to the beach, turn left and we are on your right hand side.
