Set in the picturesque Cowie Valley, Cavers Country Guest House (4 star in the Guest House category) offers guests a unique opportunity to enjoy luxurious accommodation, warm hospitality and spectacular views of the tranquil surroundings. Cavers is a fifth generation family-owned farm with one of the
most beautiful gardens in South Africa, 16 kilometres from the scenic
village of Bedford. A stone double story homestead, built in 1850,
is used exclusively for guests. |

The Guest House
The stone-built guest house was built in 1860, as can be seen from the
spacious rooms, high ceilings, wooden floors and wooden staircase.There
is throughout a sense of graciousness seldom found these days.
The house has been superbly modernized to the highest standards to provide all modern conveniences without compromising the essential ambience. All rooms are provided with cable television and Wi-Fi access.
Guests can pick and choose from four luxuriously appointed en-suite bedrooms. All the bedrooms offer delightful views either onto the garden or over the beautiful Cowie River Valley to the mountains beyond. The lounge is huge and comfortably furnished with a fireplace to make the room cosy on cold nights.
For the convenience of our guests there is a separate sitting room equipped with television and an honesty bar. The gracious dining room looks out onto a patio and a private garden with a large swimming pool which are for the exclusive use of the guests.
The Cottage
Elsewhere in the grounds stands a charming cottage offering two spacious
and comfortable en-suite bedrooms.
The Garden
Enjoy three hectares of beautiful garden with a vast variety of trees,
shrubs and flowers. Cavers' garden has appeared in many publications,
including “Beautiful Gardens of South Africa”.
The garden, with its two swimming pools, has been so landscaped as to
present an informal, park-like atmosphere which blends in with the natural
beauty of the surroundings. It offers the opportunity to really relax
and drink in beauty.
