We offer you the experience of high quality eco-tourism, involving accommodation
which is both luxurious and wholly of the nature. We can also organise
Bush Camps, Linguistic Camps and Detox programs.
Thaba Pitsi ****Lodge with its African luxury tents (5) and its Ndebele
bungalows (3) up there on the hill, in the heart of the nature reserve,
redolent of sweet dreams under the stars of the African sky.

The *** Thaba Pitsi Country-house, is a converted farmhouse, with all
modern amenities, in a cozy African' style and tastefully decorated, offering
barbecue facilities, open fire place, swimming pool & jacuzzi. ( 5
rooms in “ la Vallée de Blandine ” + 2 bungalows (2x4
people).
The ****lodge’s accommodation are made up of 5 African bush tents
& 3 Ndebele chalets, all decorated in an African style. The total
amount of guests is limited to 22 people so as to ensure a tranquil environment
and an excellent service to our customers.
African luxury tents:
Up on the hill, in the heart of the nature reserve are five luxurious
bush/safari tents (3 of them cater for 2 people the 2 others for a family
of 4).
The tents are individually decorated, each with an en suite bathroom and
are nestled in the shade of indigenous trees (more than 70 species) with
a private wooden deck overlooking the magnificent hills and are separated
of about 100m from each other. Thanks to this disposition, we offer you
all the privacy you wish.
Ndebele chalets:
In addition to the tents, Thaba Pitsi offers “cosy”
chalets with en suite bathrooms in a “chic” African style.
Two of the chalets cater for 2 people (+ outside bathroom), while the
other chalet caters for 4 people. The Chalets are close to each other
and are situated close to the 2 swimming -pools and the rest of our facilities.

La Vallée De Blandine Facilities
- “the Zebra Café” our Breakfast, Bar & Conference
area, is situated on a wooden deck overlooking the waterhole frequented
by game and bird life.
This is where every morning you will be served a copious and refined “petit
dejeuner” made up of fresh croissants, chocolate breads …
and whatever could make you happy! It is’s later, that "the
Zebra Café” becomes a full bar-lounge area where you can
enjoy pre and after dinner drinks around an open fire.

- While you relax, the children can splash around in their very own kiddies
pool. All our facilities blend superbly with the natural surroundings,perfectly
complementing each other.
L’Orange Bleue our in-house Belgian-French Restaurant located
at the foot of the Waterberg mountain, is housed in a turn-of-the 20th
century (1907) farmhouse, converted into a restaurant with modernity,
style and tastefully decorated in hot orange and blue.
Aperitifs can be enjoyed on our thatched terrace or around the fire, while
more active guests can work up an appetite playing a game of pétanque
(the French game of “boules”). The main attraction however
is our exquisite cuisine, prepared with passion. "A la Carte"
lunches & dinners accompanied by the chef's specialties provide the
ingredients for a gastronomic experience.
The ambience of the bushveld, the interesting decor and the delicious
Belgian/French cuisine make for an unforgettably romantic Afro-European
experience. We also propose some special menus for functions (birthday,
St Valentine’s menu, Christmas menu...). On your request, we can
also prepare different kinds of splits such as crocodile, sucking pig
and lamb.
Attractions / Activities At and Nearby To La Vallée De Blandine
Thaba Pitsi Nature Reserve allows combining nature discovery with outdoor
activities. Thaba Pitsi Nature Reserve offers different kinds of activities.
In the first category of activities, you find all the activities that
you can do on the spot, in the reserve and which are included in the rates.
The second category is formed by activities for which you should pay an
additional fee. Those activities can either be organised within the reserve
or very close to the reserve. Spa treatments available on request. Visits
are an other form of activities that most people will enjoy.
- Game Drive: (one per stay)
- Walking Trails: as Thaba Pitsi is an Eco reserve where live only non-dangerous
animals such as zebras, antelopes. You can walk safely in the bush and
observe the flora and the fauna (more than 25km of tracks).
- Bird Watching: more than 200 different birds species have been observed.
- Stargazing: the telescope of the reserve whenever you feel like observing
the sky. (At the Lodge only)
- Mountain Bike Trails: we have at your disposal mountain bikes, which
you can use to discover the bush(more than 25km of tracks).
- Swimming Pool and Jacuzzi: the swimming pools and the Jacuzzis are situated
close to the Zebra Café (lodge) and in the garden of the Country
house. Our warm climate allows you to swim from September to May.
- Petanque: You can play the pétanque (French game of balls) just
beside the restaurant.
Please Note : All Additional Activities are Guided / Supervised
- Horse Trails: No matter what’s your horse-riding level. In quick
time or slowly, discovering the bush with horses is the best way to approach
the games.
R200/horse ±1h30Horse riding lessons: Group horse riding lessons
or private lessons are organised on request. The lessons take place in
the paddock and are given by a qualified teacher.
- 4 Wheeler Trails (Quad): Accompanied by one member of our staff, you
will discover the Bush with a 4 wheeler. You can follow the track or cut
through the bush.
- Clay Pigeon Shooting: A staff member will provide you all the equipment,
quality shotguns, clay targets, ammo and the explanation you will need
it to enjoy this precision sport .
· Bow Shooting: R50/pers. 1/2h/guided. We supply bows, arrows,
target & instructions. Minimum of 2 required - The bow shooting fields
is situated besides the Tennis court.
- Paintball: (October 2011) In our proper designed battlefield, 100 bullets
(R175-), overalls & protective mask. Minimum 4 max 8 people, age restriction
12 years.
- Hunting: Bow hunting can be organised on Thaba Pitsi, classic hunting
can be organised on neighbouring farms.
- Fishing is possible in different places in & round the Reserve.
How To Get To La Vallée De Blandine
From Johannesburg or Pretoria, take the N1 North-Platinum Toll Highway, direction Polokwane (Pietersburg). Pass through the Pumulani Toll Plaza - (R7.80 toll fee for a car). Pass the Panorama Petroport (Total petrol station)) and continue through the Carousel Toll Plaza - (R36- toll fee for a car).
Pass the Carousel Casino on your left and approximately 40 kilometers
later, take the R516 Bela Bela (Warmbaths) / Settlers turn off (exit 238),
and turn left.
At the T-junction, turn right into the R101 Bela Bela (Warmbaths) road,
pass the Bela Bela’s Waterfront Arts and Craft Centre on your left.
At the next set of traffic lights, (immediately after crossing the railway bridge), turn left again into Potgieter Street and follow the road which curves around to the right and then turn left at the intersection Chris Hani Rd (Voortrekker Rd), passing the entrance to the For Ever Resort (on your left hand side).
Turn right (after the municipality building) into Grobbler avenue (becomes) -> Robertson avenue -> head North-West through Alma Road, Ranking Pass, Bela Bela Dam for 10km at the shooting ranch, then turn right towards Nooitgedacht for 7km (gravel road) Thaba Pitsi Nature Reserve is on your right (orange gate).
