without the intrusion of television, telephone and radio is the
perfect getaway from the stress of city living.
Thaba Pitsi Eco lodge is an oasis of peace and tranquility who offers
an exclusive "Out of Africa" experience with ample wildlife
and a beautiful setting, in a malaria free area.
An experience to savour and enjoy! Thaba Pitsi, which means "Mountain
of the Zebras" in Northern Sotho is situated in the Waterberg
in Limpopo, the "Province of Peace".
Thaba Pitsi Nature Reserve is located in close proximity to Gauteng:
one and a half hours drive from the Johannesburg International Airport
and one hour’s drive from Pretoria.

de Blandine ” is housed in a farmhouse, converted into a Country-house
with modernity, “cozy African” style and tastefully decorated,

African luxury tents:
Up on the hill, in the heart of the nature reserve are five luxurious
bush/safari tents (3 of them cater for 2 people the 2 others for a family
of 4).
The tents are individually decorated, each with an en suite bathroom and
are nestled in the shade of indigenous trees (more than 70 species) with
a private wooden deck overlooking the magnificent hills and are separated
of about 100m from each other. Thanks to this disposition, we offer you
all the privacy you wish.
Ndebele chalets:
In addition to the tents, Thaba Pitsi offers “cozy”
chalets with en suite bathrooms in a “chic” African style.
Two of the chalets cater for 2 people (+ outside bathroom), while the
other chalet caters for 4 people. The Chalets are close to each other
and are situated close to the 2 swimming -pools and the rest of our facilities

activities. Thaba Pitsi Nature Reserve offers different kinds of activities.
n the first category of activities, you find all the activities that you
can do on the spot, in the reserve and which are included in the rates.
The second category is formed by activities for which you should pay an
additional fee. Those activities can either be organised within the reserve
or very close to the reserve. Spa treatments available on request. Visits
are an other form of activities that most people will enjoy.

Activities And Attractions In And Around Thaba Pitsi Nature Reserve
· De Wildt Shingwedzi Cheetah & Wildlife Ranch
The Cheetah farm was established in 1971 with the aim of breeding endangered
species. While the cheetah project was the base from which the centre
launched its conservation ethic, it soon widened to include other rare
and endangered animals species such as wild dog, brown hyena, serval.
· Nylsvley Nature Reserve is a 4.000HA reserve
and lies between the Waterberg Mountains & the Springbok Flats at
50 km North of Bela Bela. It is a Birds sanctuary with 400 species and
80.000 birds.
· Other places to visit in the area include the natural springs
& thalasso therapy facilities at For Ever Resort, Bambalela rehabilitation
centre, the Makapansgat caves, Potgietersrus Platinum mine and the Carousel
Casino and Entertainment Centre situated at 55 kilometers from Thaba Pitsi.
· GOLF: You feel like playing golf? No problem,
you can enjoy different gorgeous Golf Club around Bela Bela.The Northern
Province and surroundings are rich in places to visit. All of these visits
can be organised on request.
· HUNTING: can be organised on neighbouring farms.
· HORSE TRAILS: No matter what’s your horse-riding
level. In quick time or slowly, discovering the bush with horses is the
best way to approach the games.
Horse riding lessons: Group horse riding lessons or private lessons are
organised on request. The lessons take place in the paddock and are given
by a qualified teacher.
· 4 WHEELER TRAILS (QUAD): Accompanied by one
member of our staff, you will discover the Bush with a 4 wheeler. You
can follow the track or cut through the bush.
· CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING: A staff member will provide
you all the equipment, quality shotguns, clay targets, ammo and the explanation
you will need it to enjoy this precision sport .
· BOW SHOOTING: We supply bows, arrows, target
& instructions. Minimum of 2 required - The bow shooting fields is
situated besides the Tennis court.
· PAINTBALL: (April 2010) In our proper designed
battlefield, 100 bullets, overalls & protective mask. Minimum 4 -
max 8 people, age restriction 12 years.
· JET SKI & WATER SKI: Close to Thaba Pitsi
(8km) is a splendid lake where you will have the opportunity to use our
equipment and have a great time on the water!
· FISHING is possible in different places in &
round the Reserve.
GAME DRIVE
Accompanied by our game-ranger, guests can explore and experience the
African bush in an open “vintage” Land Rover truck, on horseback
or you can take game walks at your leisure. For the more adventurous,
mountain bikes and quad bikes are available to explore the reserve.
Guests are likely to closely encounter, just about every non-threatening
African animal such as the Zebra, Bushbuck, Blesbuck, Blue Wildebeest,
Bush pig, Caracal, Duiker, Eland, Eagle, Giraffe, Grysbok, Impala, Klipspringer,
Kudu, Oryx, Ostrich, Reedbuck, Red Hartebeest, Steenbok, Warthog and Baboon.
Wandering Hyenas as well as Leopards have been spotted from time to time
The amateur bird watcher will relish in the variety of more than 223 bird
species. The amateur tree watcher will enjoy the variety of more than
70 species.
Getting to Thaba Pitsi
From Johannesburg or Pretoria, take the N1 North-Platinum Toll Highway,
direction Polokwane (Pietersburg). Pass through the Pumulani Toll Plaza.
Pass the Panorama Petroport (Total petrol station)) and continue through
the Carousel Toll Plaza. Pass the Carousel Casino on your left and approximately
40 kilometers later, take the R516 Bela Bela (Warmbaths) / Settlers turn
off (exit 238), and turn left.
At the T-junction, turn right into the R101 Bela Bela (Warmbaths) road.
Pass the Bela Bela’s Waterfront Arts and Craft Centre on your left.
At the next set of traffic lights, (immediately after crossing the railway
bridge), turn left again into Potgieter Street and follow the road which
curves around to the right and then turn left at the intersection Chris
Hani Rd (Voortrekker Rd), passing the entrance to the For Ever Resort
(on your left hand side).
Turn right (after the municipality building) into Grobbler avenue ->
Robertson avenue -> head North-West through Alma Road, Ranking Pass,
Warmbaths Dam for 10km at the shooting ranch, then turn right towards
Nooitgedacht for 7km (gravel road) Thaba Pitsi Nature Reserve is on your
right (orange gate).
