The farm is only 30 kilometres from the de Hoop Nature and Marine Reserve
where the visitor may enjoy wildlife and bird life in abundance.
Watch the whales from June to November.
Drive to Malagas and cross the Breede River to Witsand and Fort Beaufort,
on the only manually operated pont in South Africa.
Take a picnic basket to De Mond Nature Reserve. Visit the fascinating
Shipwreck Museum in Bredasdorp. Visit the charming village with two names,
Arniston / Waenhuiskrans.
Directions to Staandakkie Guest Cottage
From Cape Town, take the N2 towards Caledon and at Caledon turn off onto
the R316 towards Bredasdorp. Travel into the centre of Bredasdorp and
at the intersection of All Saints Street, turn left towards Swellendam.
After approximately 7 km turn right at the Malagas / Infanta turn-off.
Travel for approximately 5 km, turn right at the guest house sign, and
follow the signs for 3.5 km to the farm house.
