Cranford Inn Clarens is situated in the beautiful village of Clarens in the Eastern Free State, sandwiched between the Rooiberge and the majestic Maluti Mountains.
Only 300km from Gauteng, less than 4 hours drive from Durban and approx 2.5 hours drive from Bloemfontein, the Inn is very centrally situated and is an ideal holiday as well as a conference venue.

We are en route to and from the Cape Province from just about everywhere in South Africa.
Our hotel caters especially for the local market who are looking for realistic prices, genuine hospitality and comfortable accommodation. Clarens is home to many artists as well as over 18 galleries and fine curio shops.

Our conference rooms are suitable for either U-shape or Classroom style and can accommodate up to 40 delegates in comfort. The conference rooms are equipped with heaters, fans, Overhead Projectors, White Boards, Flip Charts, Pin Boards, TV and Video as well as Audio Facilities. Additional equipment can be hired.

How To Get To Cranford Inn

From Gauteng (Recommended from the East side of Johannesburg. )
Take the N3 from Johannesburg to Durban, as you cross the Vaal River at Villiers, before the Toll Gate, turn off the N3 and follow the R26 to Frankfort. Continue with the R26 until you get to a T-Junction. Turn to your right towards Frankfort. Pass the town of Frankfort and cross a bridge over a large river.
Veer towards the left still on the R 26 towards Tweeling, continue straight on with this road, the R26, over a stop street and past Reitz. When you get to Bethlehem carry on through 2 sets of traffic lights, then a 4 way stop, and then through a third set of traffic lights, and past a large Engen Garage on your right.

About 6 km’s from Bethlehem turn onto the R711 / 2 to Golden Gate & Clarens. You are about 25 km’s from Clarens. You will pass through the Noupoort or “Nek” of Clarens. Continue down the hill until you see the road leading into the village at the bottom of the hill.
Turn right into the village of Clarens and immediately turn left past the Engen Garage. Travel approx 850 m over 2 speed humps and you will see a red Coca-cola sign on your left indicating the entrance to the Hotel.
