Millpond House is a bed & breakfast / self catering accommodation spot, situated in the quaint little village of Clarens in the Eastern Free State in the foothills of the Maluti mountains.

The Golden Gate National Park is only 17 kms away and Clarens is an ideal stop-over for the popular ski resort in Lesotho.
Millpond House is a haven of peace and tranquility. The rose-filled garden is a mass of colours and fragrances where chickens roam around freely.

Millpond House Accommodation

There are five rooms to choose from and the interiors are tastefully and individually decorated.
Within easy walking distance from the centre of the village, Millpond House boasts magnificent views of the surrounding mountain ranges.

Mill Creek Cottage:
Is a free-standing cottage with two de-luxe suites, the Walnut Room and Rose Room. They both have separate entrances, with private patios, en-suite bathrooms (with slipper bath and shower), small kitchenettes, fire-places, under-tile heating, electric blankets, microwaves, DSTV.
Millpond House:
Has three rooms with separate entrances – The Garden Room, Blue Room and Feather Room. They are similar to Mill Creek Cottage except that they do not have fireplaces.

Visitors have a wide variety of activities available, such as golf, tennis, squash, hiking, mountain biking etc. For the more adventurous there are a host of exciting outdoor activities which include quad-biking, abseiling, horse-riding, white water rafting, to name a few.

How To Get To Millpond House

From Johannesburg / Pretoria
Take the N3 Durban Road. after crossing the Vaal River and Engen One Stop near Villiers (before the second toll gate) take the Frankfort off ramp– to the R26.
Turn right, go over the freeway and go on towards Frankfort, by-pass Frankfort and cross the Wilge River and about 300m further take the turnoff to the left to Reitz / Tweeling.

Follow the R26 – by-passing Tweeling and Reitz. Drive straight through Bethlehem on the Durban road N5. Approximately 8 kms outside Bethlehem turn right onto the R712 to Clarens / Golden Gate.
Turn right into the Main Street of Clarens and immediately right again into Sias Oosthuizen Street (before the dam and see Millpond sign). Next left into Cilliers Street and Millpond House is no 468 on the right hand side.
