Easily reached from the N2, Happy Jackal Guest House is in the perfect
spot for game, river or coastal activities.
Extensive lawns stretch down to the riverside while unspoilt, natural
bush is the habitat of kudu on the opposite banks.
Port Elizabeth and its airport is only half an hour away and in
the opposite direction, the historic, university town of Grahamstown
would take the traveler a mere 45 minutes.
The Happy Jackal is therefore in the perfect position for a wealth
of day trips.
Happy Jackal Guest house Accommodation
The guest house offers a choice of 5 luxurious double en-suite
rooms, all with stunning river views.

Guests may choose from ground floor rooms with private entrances and
garden patios or impressively large and comfortable thatched upstairs
rooms, one of which has its own roofed deck.
All beds are of the highest quality and dressed with percale linen and
goose down duvets. Each room has satellite TV, ceiling fans, safe, bar
fridge (stocked), hairdryer, hospitality tray and complimentary soaps.
The rooms are serviced daily.
Rooms 1, 2, 3:
Double ground-floor rooms, river-front view, queen size or twin beds,
sliding door to patio and river bank, en-suite bathroom with large shower.
Room 4:
Luxury first floor room with stunning river view. Spacious, thatched roof,
en-suite bathroom with tub and shower. Extra length, king-size beds, mosquito
nets, day bed (can be used for a child). This is a really huge room.
Room 5:
Luxury, thatched, first floor room with stunning river views. Sliding
door to private, outside thatched deck furnished in rustic timber. Extra-length,
king-size bed, mosquito nets, en-suite bathroom with tub and shower.
Room 6:
Thatched, ground-floor room with garden view, en-suite bathroom with shower.
King-size bed and extra single bed.
GARDEN COTTAGE
Self-catering cottage comprises 3 bedrooms, one king (en-suite, separate
entrance), one queen, one twin beds., 2nd bathroom with bath and shower,
open plan kitchen/lounge, thatched patio with built-in barbeque.

ATTRACTIONS / ACTIVITIES
Schotia to see wild lions hunting, Dungbeetle Tours into the
Addo Elephant Park, Kwantu to visit the elephant sanctuary, (help feed
and even ride them).
Other nearby activities can be arranged for your convenience too. Go fishing,
canoeing, skiing, swimming and boating on the river.
The Nukakamma Canoe Trail begins here or take the opportunity to go whale-watching
or ride out to one of the islands.
Enjoy cycling, bird-watching or walking in the clean fresh air. Call in
at the village pub for a drink and stroll along the river bank. Visit
the sand dunes at the river mouth, or take a drive up or down the coast,
so much to see!
Shake off that stress with a visit to our local aroma therapist or book
a session of Swedish or Chinese massage. Then at the end of the day, come
home to a sunset glass of wine on the deck, a long soak in the tub and
a scrumptious meal at one of our local venues.
How To Get To Happy Jackal Guest house
From Port Elizabeth
Take the N2. After 40 km TURN LEFT after the distance sign that says "Grahamstown
90km".
You will now see the Happy Jackal signs.
Only 2km away is the new southern gate (Matyholweni camp) of the Addo
Elephant park.
From Grahamstown
Take the N2 towards Port Elizabeth. On the way lies the village of Colchester.
Pass the petrol station and watch for the brown sign saying "Addo
Elephant Camp Matyholweni" TURN RIGHT. You will now see the Happy
Jackal signs.
