Our 15 superior luxury rooms are fully air-conditioned with en-suite modern marble bathrooms, king size beds, satellite tv, private bar, internet facilities and access to our 11 meter solar heated swimming pool. The Cape Dutch manor house is a peaceful haven set amidst exquisite gardenscapes, boasting extensive displays of indigenous planting and abundant bird life, with the estates unique character of comfort and romance lending to the reassurance of time invested in restoring one’s senses.
Each room is individually furnished in a contemporary Cape style with the finest lines and finishes. With attention to detail, the comforts of cotton percale linen, comfy cushions, a honesty bar, tea tray, clock radio, electronic safe, internet access and air-conditioning are standard in all the rooms.
The bathrooms are an invitation to pamper oneself with modern granite
and glass finishes, to the twin basins, large oval baths and separate
walk in showers.
There are soft white gowns, pool towels and a range of fragrant toiletries
for your daily use. Additional to these luxuries, the suites also have
a butler’s cupboard which is equipped with a sink, microwave, kettle,
toaster, crockery & cutlery for guests wishing to experience a longer
stay.
Glen Avon Lodge Facilities
Overlooking the gardens and Iceberg roses, the dining room and veranda are open daily for hearty breakfasts, offering a full English and Continental buffet, with freshly baked pastries are the order of the day.
During the balmy summer months, breakfast on the patio, shaded by lofty
umbrella’s and brightly coloured tablecloths, are a leisurely affair.
In the evenings, as the lights are dimmed for intimate candle-lit dinners,
the dining room is transformed with elegant tableware, glasses and flowing
white tablecloths.
Overlooking the breathtaking gardens and rolling lawns that surround
the guesthouse, each room has its own honesty bar and patio, with table
and chairs for private relaxation.
The pool garden has long cushioned loungers for poolside sunbathing or
just reading a book, under the shade of the age old Oak trees and numerous
umbrellas offering shade from the heat of the day.
A refreshing swim may be enjoyed in the 11 metre solar heated salt water
pool, which invitingly sparkles in the sunshine.
The guest lounge is where, in winter, cosy fireside conversations are
enjoyed and new friends are made, as drinks are served with the warm atmosphere
of times gone by.
In summer, join us on the front veranda before the start of the evening’s festivities for your pre-dinner drinks. A business centre provides ease and comfort for our professional travellers and for those guests wanting to download their e-mails and confirm their return flights home.
How To Get To Glen Avon Lodge
From the Airport
Take the N2 Highway to Cape Town and as you near the mountain take the
M3 off-ramp to the left (To Muizenberg). Do not take the M5 off-ramp.
Continue on the M3 Freeway past the Constantia off-ramp and take the Ladies
Mile off-ramp. When you reach the traffic lights turn left.
At the next set of traffic lights turn left onto the M42 to Tokia and
follow the road, past "Peddlars on the Bend" on your right hand
side. Turn left into Strawberry Lane and left again into Glen Avon Close
where you follow the signs into the lodge.
