Welcome to HambledenHambleden is a 27 hectare farm with stunning views situated in the beautiful Dargle Valley in the Kwazulu Natal Midlands. We are situated on the Midlands Meander within easy reach of Midmar Dam and some 14 kilometres from Howick. We are also midway between Hilton College and Michaelhouse, making us the ideal destination for Hilton-Michaelhouse fixtures! |

Self-Catering
Westfield Cottage was built and recently renovated using by local artisans.
The cottage has two airy bedrooms and en-suite bath and shower. It has
a spacious lounge and its own verandah overlooking the garden towards
the dam.
On misty and chilly days, one can curl up in front of the open fire. Full cable TV is available for a nominal additional charge. Westfield cottage can accommodate four people comfortably and we have a camp cot for babies or can put in an additional mattress for a child if necessary.
Westfield Cottage has a kitchenette and cooking facilities including hob, convection microwave and braai facilities on the verandah.
Bed and Breakfast
Turville our newly renovated double room with en-suite bath and shower
adjoins the main house adjacent to the cottage and offers comfortable
bed and breakfast accommodation. Cable TV is available in the unlikely
event guests wish to keep in contact with the outside world!
Relax on our wide verandah and soak up the tranquil views and birdsong whilst you enjoy your breakfast. Alternatively you can request a room only rate for this room if you would prefer to have your meals on the Meander.
• Bass fishing or bird watching at our dam.
• Visit our Nguni cows and calves and our hens.
• Short 4x4 route – ideal test for soft off-roaders!
• Trampoline and swings for young children (to be used under parental
supervision only)
• Walk on our 27 hectare estate with its stunning views of the area,
accompanied by our friendly dogs.
• Walking trails into the Dargle Valley, where wildlife (including
serval, porcupine, jackals, aardvark and buck) abounds.
• New laid free range eggs, fresh produce and preserves, produced
on our farm are available for purchase by our guests.
Come, relax and soak up the peaceful atmosphere of the Natal Midlands. Experience four seasons in a day and pinch yourself to remember you are not in England, whilst being in easy reach of Durban and only 4.5 hours’ drive from Johannesburg!
Midmar Dam is easily accessible for water sports lovers and of course, the Midmar Mile each February. Hilton College is only 30 minutes’ drive away and we are a 20 minute drive from Michaelhouse.
