Burgherspost Wine Estate Reservations: booksa@madbookings.com
Come and experience the best of both wine and nature at our private
wine cellar, with arguably the best Shiraz in the country. Burgherspost
Wine Estate is nestled in the Darling Wine Route, at the foot of
the picturesque Dassenberg Granite Hill.
Our private game reserve is a botanical hotspot, especially during
flower season from mid August to end September, with over twenty
rare and endangered species already identified.
Our next door neighbour, Cape Nature's Pella Research Reserve, has
the highest number of endangered species for any reserve in the
country, but is unfortunately closed to the public. On Burgherspost
however, you can enjoy a guided drive and explore our rich biodiversity
first hand.

Directions to Burgherspost Wine Estate
From Cape Town, take the N7 to Malmesbury. Follow the signs for Darling,
turning left off the N7. Turn right at the T-junction onto the R315. After
about 15 km you will cross a railway line and Darling Cellars is immediately
after this, on the left-hand side.
Turn left in front of Darling Cellars, following signs to Cloof, which
is at the end of a 5 km gravel road. The Burgherspost Cottages are about
3 km up the road past the Cloof turn-off.
At the entrance to Burgherspost Wine Estate there will be a remote control
in a box against the wall on the right-hand side with which to open the
electric gate.
Continue down the road until you reach a sign directing you to the Manor
House. There will be a large irrigation dam to your left. Turn right at
the sign towards the Manor House and the cottages are at the top of the
road, looking out onto a few small dams and the vineyards.
