History’s Walk B&B is an old Victorian-type house that had been patiently renovated by Johann and Michele. It will always remain a work in progress, as a labour of love never ends.This house had been a joint effort with our parents, Piet and Petra, from Swakopmund, and Marie, from Kroonstad.

Their help and input had been a huge inspiration, and this would not have been possible without them.
Our large garden and birdlife is a constant source of joy, and our famous Stoep had seen many personalities, with many a discussion and good harmony to be had. We are situated in the historic old town of Dundee, in Kwazulu-Natal.

Namib Room
The Namib Room is our double room, with en-suite shower and double bed.
There is a TV is the room. A hair dryer, fan and mosquito repellent are provided at all times.
The shower has handmade tiles on the floor which Michele laid herself.
The Namib Room was inspired by our travels to Namibia, Johann’s home country.

Boland Room
The Boland Room is a twin room, with two single beds.
It also has an en-suite shower with a pebble floor that had been put in by hand, by Michele.
This room has no TV.
A hair dryer, fan and mosquito repellent are provided at all times.

Puntje Room
The Puntje Room is also a twin room, and a rather quirky representation of the time Johann spent in Belgium.
This room has an en-suite bathroom.
There is a TV in the room.

Directions to History's walk B&B

from Glencoe or Newcastle
you would enter Dundee on Karellandman Road.
Continue into town until you reach the first set of traffic lights.
Turn right into Tatham Road, with Johan Strauss Motors on your left.
Continue across the railway bridge, and follow the road up to the traffic circle in Victoria Street.
Dundee High School grounds will be on your right.
Turn right at the circle, go down Victoria Street and turn left in Coronation Street, which is the next one.
Follow the road to the hospital entrance.
Our place is on the lefthand corner at the t-junction.
Look out for the History’s Walk sign.

If coming in on the Vryheid Road
past Talana Museum, you simply follow the road into town, past the Royal Country Inn.
Continue over the railway bridge, into Victoria Street, and turn left at Coronation Street, just past the small traffic circle. Beware of speed bumps.
Look for our signs again, at the t-junction in front of the hospital entrance.
We are on the lefthand corner.
