Alba
Guest Farm is an easy 30 minutes drive from the City of Cape Town, Table
Mountain, and its famous V&A Water Front, your departure point to
Robben Island where former President Nelson Mandela was jailed for 27
years.
Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Strand, Paarl, Franschoek, the Southern Suburbs, Cape Town International Airport, Constantia, Clifton, Camps Bay, Cape Point and Muizenberg are all within a leisurely 20 - 45 minute drive through the beautiful vineyards of the Cape Winelands, mountain passes and villages with over 350 years of history and culture.
Golfing enthusiasts will not find a more central location as a base in the Greater Cape Town area. You are within a 30 minute drive of any of the major or minor golf courses in the Western Cape, and Alba’s sumptuous farm breakfasts are the perfect start to a round or two on the course of your choice.
Alba Guest Farm was originally part of the famous Meerendal Wine Estate – our neighbour on 2 sides. Meerendal Wine Estate with its 305 year wine growing history also has the oldest Pinotage vineyards in the world.
Alba Guest Farm Accommodation
We have 6 self catering cottages that are equipped with fireplaces for
those cool winter evenings and an open area for warm summer nights.
We also have 6 1 bedroom cottages with a queen size bed, en-suite bathrooms
with a bath and a shower, good quality cotton sheets, a lounge / dining
area and a kitchenette.
The lounge area has extra space for sleeping couches if need be andall
cottages have fireplace. The timeless decor withal modern touch covers
all the cottages and their fully equipped kitchenettes include small fridges,
double plate stoves, microwave ovens, and sufficient kitchen utensils
for 4 people in each.
All cottages also have the luxury of DVD players upon request, A TV with
local channels, 2 DSTV channels and M-Net. We are 4 star graded and are
environmentally situated in the countryside.
Alba Guest Farm Facilities
If you like walking, the adjacent Meerendal farm lends itself to long
walks between the vineyards with spectacular views.
Early morning sunset views are magnificent hence the name Alba which is
“sunrise” in Italian. Cycling enthusiasts have found Alba
the ideal starting point to good rides between the farms and vineyards.
The road past Alba (Vissershok Road) is used for one of the legs of the
Cape Argus Cycle Tour. The Wine Routes of Stellenbosch, Franschoek, Somerset
West, Paarl, Malmesbury, Riebeck Kasteel, Riebeck West, Muizenberg, Constantia,
Bishops Court.
