Oranje Guest Farm is a working farm, amongst the beautiful mountains of the Eastern Free State in South Africa, located between Fouriesburg and Clarens, near the border of Lesotho.

Imagine a setting for a break-away, a wedding or special occasion in a valley created by the Maluti Mountains on the one side and the Rooi (Red) mountains on the other side.
Imagine sandstone cliffs coloured by nature in hues of tan, yellow, brown, black, with the late afternoon sun adding that spectacular orange glow on the majestic sandstone rock cliffs.
Imagine cattle, sheep and horses grazing peacefully in the abundant valley.

Oranje Guest Farm Accommodation

The rondavel, family rooms, bridal-suite and bedrooms in the restored farmhouse, all have their own entrance, TV, electric blankets, safe, hair dryer, heater and hospitality tray. Log fires in winter. With its panoramic view, the veranda is ideal for barbeques and sundowners.

The rooms at Oranje Guest Farm have been named after the father, mother and five children who used to live in the house. When we added extra rooms, we named them after the daughters-in-law

Oupa en Ouma
1 King size bed (or 2 single beds) and 1 single bed - sleeps 3 - bathroom en-suite, with bath, shower, wash basin and toilet. A beautiful view and the biggest room in the house.

Hansman
This rondavel has - 1 double bed - sleeps 2 - bathroom en-suite with a shower, wash basin and toilet.

Laura
This is a family room with 2 beds - extra beds can be brought in - sleeps 4 - en-suite bathroom, with bath, wash basin and toilet.

Adini
Also a family room with 2 beds - extra beds can be brought in - sleeps 4 - en-suite bathroom - with shower, wash basin and toilet. These family units are connected with an interlinking door which can be opened when necessary.

Loucarl
The Honeymoon suite. It is completely separate from the rest of the guests. A large room with a king size bed, en-suite bathroom with a bath, wash basin and toilet.

Jannie, Nelie, Esias and Malem
These rooms have been furnished with a king size bed (or 2 single beds) - sleeps 2 - bathroom en-suite, with a shower, wash basin and toilet. Each of these rooms has its own outer door which opens on a stoep (pergola).

The new “Honeymoon-suite” is something to see that cannot be captured on a photo. It is completely separate from the other guests and the bride is thus also completely private when she has her dress up for her special day!

We have also renovated the wool barn and converted it into a little church.
When the bride wants to marry at Oranje, it can be in the garden, in the forest or in the little church.

The venue includes catering, waiters, ice & barman plus overnight accommodation in the homestead for 23 people, including the bridal suite.

We can accommodate up to 200 guests depending on the dance space required!

- Our menus are varied - from typical South African to International exotic. Every menu is planned according to the exact requirements of our guests. Prices are quoted per head.
- We assist you with the wine list and supply of the wines, port and sherry.
- The flowers, colour scheme and theme of the occasion are discussed and executed according to your personal taste and request by our experienced team of decorators.

Our beautiful and tranquil farm will charm your guests! Come and enjoy a relaxing drink at the Oranje Stoep Cafè which has a fully Licensed Bar.

Our restaurant and tea garden on the typical spacious farm house stoep offers the overnight guests and day visitors sumptuous menu choices for a relaxed tea of filter-coffee break, lunch or dinner.
The combination of good food & wine, the spectacular views and serenity make the Stoep Restaurant a “must stopover” destination in this part of the Eastern Free State.

About Oranje Guest Farm

Oranje Guest Farm is situated 20 kilometers from Clarens on the R711 - the most picturesque route in the South Africa. The stately homestead for the guests and renovated sandstone barn for functions were built when the cost of building, time and space were not in consideration and craftsmanship was still a matter of pride.

History

From January 2004 we started working on renovating the old dairy barn on Oranje. On the 8th of June 2004 we had our first wedding and on the 26th of June we had our official opening with a pudding and port evening! The barn is installed with a kitchen, a serving area, bar, dance area and toilets.
