Our luxurious accommodation includes a total of 9 spacious and tastefully
decorated en-suite rooms all fully equipped with mini-bars, tea / coffee
making facilities, DSTV and air-conditioning. Our Manor suite and Elizabeth
suite are among the finest in Franschhoek and have the privacy of their
own entrance with access to the guesthouse pool and sunny breakfast terrace.
In addition to the Manor House this luxurious winelands accommodation
includes a new, superbly refurbished, secluded cottage with a private
garden and terrace. Perfect as a honeymoon suite this private two bedroom
cottage with spacious en-suite facilities and adjoining lounge offers
guaranteed privacy and use of the guesthouse pool and services.
Elizabeth Suite
Elizabeth – is situated under the thatch and poplar beams and has
its own private upstairs entrance, making it an ideal honeymoon suite.
It is fully equipped with air-conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities,
mini bar, television and DStv (Satellite TV) and luxurious linens (with
the option of double or twin beds). Corner bath and shower and stunning
views overlooking the vineyard, river and onto the mountain make this
suite a honeymoon delight.
Jacob Suite
Jacob – is situated upstairs and is fully equipped with air-conditioning,
mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, mini bar, television and DStv
(Satellite TV) and luxurious linens. A traditional ball and claw bath
and shower and breathtaking mountain views give this twin or double room
a romantic appeal.
Paulina Suite
Paulina – is situated on the ground floor of the Country House and
fully equipped with air-conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities,
mini bar, television and DStv (satellite TV) and luxurious linens. The
spacious, en suite bathroom with shower and bath tub and close proximity
to the sun drenched pool terrace make this suite a firm favourite with
returning guests.
Gideon Suite
Gideon – Situated on the ground floor of the country house and fully
equipped with air-conditioning, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities,
DStv (Satellite TV), luxurious linens, spacious en suite bathroom featuring
shower and bath tub. Step outside onto the sun drenched pool terrace and
enjoy the fresh morning air or peaceful dusk revealing a night filled
with clear bright star filled skies.
Basse Provence Manor House
Basse Provence Manor House dates back to 1855 and offers our guests serenity
and calm that only country hospitality can. The fire warmed dining room,
lounge and fully fitted kitchen assures our guests of warm Cape hospitality
in the few short winter months.
A swimming pool is available for long, hot summer afternoons and guests
are encouraged to spend a relaxing day on the farm, with croquet on the
front lawn and boules under the cool shade of 300 year old oak trees.
The garden terrace has braai (barbecue) which guests are welcome to
enjoy. A stroll down to the river to enjoy a gourmet picnic basket provided
by Rickety Bridge Restaurant in the Vines on our neighbouring estate offers
an idyllic afternoon. The stylishly renovated eighteenth century Manor
House has three beautifully furnished rooms, each with glorious mountain
views.
Manor Suite 1
Manor 1 – is a spacious and airy room under the thatch and poplar
beams and is fully equipped with air-conditioning, mini bar, tea and coffee
making facilities, television and DStv (Satellite TV) and luxurious linens.
Lots of cupboard space, luxuriously large en suite bathroom with under
floor heating and own private upstairs entrance makes this an ideal honeymoon
suite.
Manor Suite 2
Manor 2 – this comfy, cosy room has a full, private but not en suite
bathroom and is therefore charged at a lower rate than our other rooms.
All basic luxuries are provided; tea and coffee making facilities, mini
bar, television and DStv (Satellite TV) and luxurious linens along with
breathtaking mountain views making this room ideal for a 1 night stay-over.
Manor Suite 3
Manor 3 – This intimate room at the far end of the thatched eaves
enjoys an en suite bathroom with Victorian roll top bath. Fully equipped
with air-conditioning, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, television,
DStv (Satellite TV) luxurious linens and breathtaking mountain views make
this secluded room one of the most peaceful in the Manor House.
Basse Provence Country Cottage
We are proud to offer a new, superbly furnished two bedroom cottage. Privately
situated, this completely separate property has its own concealed entrance
and private courtyard, garden and terrace with vineyard and mountain views
front and back.
Two very spacious rooms each have air-conditioning, DStv (Satellite TV),
full en suite bathrooms and heated towel rails and are adjoined by a lounge
and dining area and self contained kitchen allowing guests the option
to cater light lunches or dinners while still enjoying a full breakfast
at the Manor House. This quaint cottage offers an ideal honeymoon option.

How To Get To Basse Provence Guest House
From Cape Town International Airport
Take the N2 and then join up with the R300 in the direction of Belville.
Merge onto the N1 towards Paarl and continue straight until exit 55-Franschhoek.
Turn right at the T-junction and at the stop sign continue under the N1
bridge.
Proceed 500 m and take the left turn-off to Franschhoek / R45. Drive
20 km towards Franschhoek, past La Motte and Kei Carpets. Approximately
1 km further along you will see the blue sign for Basse Provence Guest
House on the right-hand side.
