The Owner's Cottage
The cottage is a testament to period grandeur and contemporary luxury,
comprising the beautifully appointed Cottage are 4 rooms, a deluxe suite,
conservatory, lounge, swimming and spa pool area.
Blanketed in a palette of ‘charcoal grey’ and ‘white
linen’, the rooms beckon an indulgent experience. The 5-star graded
Owner’s Cottage offers luxurious and private en suite accommodation
to a maximum of 10 guests within a charming complex of historically significant
Cape Dutch buildings.
The Cottage is reserved exclusively for use by one guest or one party
and not on an individual multiple bookings basis.
Boutique accommodation comprises of 5 beautifully designed bedrooms including
a deluxe Honeymoon Suite, a spacious lounge, latest technology kitchen
and conservatory.
Kitchen includes microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee machine and large
double refrigerator for guest use. Daily housekeeping service is provided.
Bed linen comprises finest 400-thread count percale linen with feather
and down pillows (hypo allergenic also available upon request), king-size
beds in all rooms can be reconfigured as two singles if required. Turn
down is done every evening.
Bathroom amenities provided are bathrobes, slippers, Rain shampoo, conditioner,
body wash, body scrub and body lotion. Shaving, dental and sewing kits
are available should the need arise.

Technology and Entertainment
The surround sound stereo system is individually controlled in each guest
room. Plasma TV with a selection of satellite channels and DVD player,
in each guest room.
Comprehensive CD and DVD library available to guests, wireless internet
access and computer for guest use available in The Owner’s Cottage
office.
Cuisine and Wines
A beautifully appointed logia and entertaining area adjacent to the pool
is perfect for alfresco dining on those balmy African evenings.
A state-of-the art barbecue and your own chef completes the picture. The
conservatory at The Owner’s Cottage is ideal for private entertaining
or a small business meeting.
Full breakfast with complimentary newspapers as well as a three-course
dinner are included within the tariff on a daily basis.
Complimentary wine tasting, cellar tours as well as a guided tour of The
Gallery are all available to guests. The manicured gardens offer a quiet
retreat and boast a private swimming pool and an elevated and secluded
jacuzzi - overlooking the vines.
Recreational pursuits can be organised in consultation with our staff
or a carefully selected operator can work with guests to create their
own personal programme.
The charming Huguenot - founded village of Franschhoek is a five-minute
drive away with small museum, speciality shops, postal and banking facilities
etc.
A designated heli pad is available for guest arrivals / departures.
Children
Children up to 12 years of age welcome to share a room with their parents
at no charge. Children over 12 years of age are charged at the normal
room rate.
A child minding service is included within the tariff though parental
supervision must be maintained at all times and children’s menus
are available.

Cellar tours - Ask one of our staff members to organise
a cellar tour at a time that suits your schedule. General tours: 11h00
& 15h00 (on weekdays only).
Art Gallery - Opening hours: 10h00 – 18h00 daily.
Massage - In the peaceful surroundings and privacy of
your own room, or by the pool, a massage therapist can offer Deep Tissue
Massage, Remedial Massage or Soft Tissue Massage to relax your tired muscles
and rejuvenate your body.
Facial - In the privacy of your room have a relaxing
one hour facial.
Yoga & Pilates - Private classes in the relaxing
environment of The Owner’s Cottage.
GUIDED TOURS AND DAY TRIPS
Winelands tour - Discover the wines, cuisine, architecture
and the history of the Cape Wine-lands. 09h00 – 17h30.
Freedom Walk tour - This tour covers the history of our
country from the very early Settlers right through to our present day
democracy.
What makes the tour interesting is that the historic content is coupled
with a geographic route corresponding to the time line of the history
of our country.
During this tour you will visit places like the City Centre, buildings
relating to our Dutch heritage, the slaves quarters, District 6, townships,
gang lands (optional) and the very up-market suburbs. 09h00 – 17h30.
Township tour - Guests are asked exactly what is of interest
to them such as schools, hospitals etc. The tour will be organized accordingly.
The Cape Peninsula tour - Depart Grande Provence at approximately
09h00 and drive in a southerly direction towards the Cape Peninsula.
We pass Table Mountain and areas such as District 6, Rhodes Estate, Groote
Schuur Hospital, Rhodes Memorial and The University of Cape Town. Guests
return to the estate at approximately 17h30.
The Cape Cuisine tour
Wine and Game drive tour - Guests depart Grande Provence at approximately
09h00 heading north to visit a popular beach resort.
From the beach you will travel inland to visit a fabulous rose garden
maintained by one of the very proud local municipalities. The visit to
the rose garden is followed by a wine tasting at one of Cape Town’s
top wine estates. After the wine estate lunch will be served at a highly
acclaimed restaurant specialising in local fare.
Golf - Choose one of our many golf courses in the area.
Powerboat Trips - This trip will take you round the Cape
of Storms in a powerboat, for a unique experience of the rugged and dramatic
beauty of this amazing peninsula. You depart from and return to Millers
Point near the Black Marlin on a round trip which takes approximately
60 minutes.
Sea Kayaking - Leaving from Simon’s Town (shopping
before or afterwards). Paddle with penguins or try wave riding (various
levels of intensity).
Quad biking - Follow off-road tracks through the bush,
across rivers and up mountainous terrain. 125 cc automatic bikes are used
– previous experience not required.
Helicopter Flights - Scenic flights around the peninsula
or through the mountains of the Cape Winelands – even take a private
swim in a mountain pool. The guide can offer a multitude of possibilities,
prices vary accordingly.
Mountain Biking
Sky Diving - Tandem Freefall from 9,000ft attached to
a skydive instructor. After an amazing 30 second free-fall your shute
will open and you will float down to earth enjoying the panoramic views
that stretch from Cape Point to the Cederberg. A video and photos of the
jump are available.
Abseiling - Abseil off the “world’s highest,
natural, commercial abseil” – Table Mountain. Dare to step
from amazing 1,000 metres into a 112 metre abseil. Just you, a rope and
spectacular views.
Scuba Diving - Shipwrecks, kelp forests, coral reefs
and playful seals all within a 10 minute drive of the city centre. All
equipment for either a shore or boat dive will be supplied.
Deep Sea Fishing - Heading out from the Waterfront in
luxury-fishing boat complete with sundecks and leather interiors you will
begin trawling for fish across Table Bay.
Snoek, or Barracuda as it is known overseas, is common in these waters
and puts up a fantastic fight. Other catches could include Bronze Breen,
Yellowtail or even sharks. Drinks and snacks are provided.
Shark Diving - Guests depart at 06h00 and drive through
to Gansbaai, two and a half hours away, a breeding ground for the Great
White Shark.
Gansbaai is famous for its high numbers of this well known shark, which
feed on seals from an island colony just off the mainland.
The Atlantis Dunes - From the entrance of Atlantis you
will be transported via Land Rovers and Quad Bikes to a base camp surrounded
by rolling sand dunes.
