La Petite Providence AccommodationThroughout the cottage, the décor and furnishings are of the highest
standards, with rich tapestry cushions and wonderful artworks. The
'Sleigh' room, with its wonderful leather sleigh bed, has an
en-suite bathroom while the 'French' room has a full, luxurious bathroom
next to the room. The cottage overlooks a large duck pond with an abundance of wildlife
and provides an oasis of tranquility; perfect for enjoying the wildlife
and stunning mountain views - all from your own doorstep. Mews Flat La Petite Providence FacilitiesBehind La Petite Providence is the beautiful guest swimming pool. If
you're not partial to an early morning swim, a quick dip as the daytime
temperatures rise will always be refreshing. For those not keen on the
water, perhaps a lazy day around the pool may be more suitable. This workspace is equally suitable for the executive to conduct business
whilst away from the office or for non-business guests to send and retrieve
their e-mail. The computer has Internet access and also spreadsheet and
word-processing applications. A fax machine and telephone are also on
hand to assist with your communications. The vineyards are established on Kroonstad soil and the vines are supported
using the ‘extended perold double cordon’ trellising system.
The estate has a west-facing aspect, with the trellising set in an East-West
direction. In June we prune the vines to two eye-bearers and in October
we sucker the vineyards to two shoots per bearer. As the grapes start colouring, we crop the bunches in order to reduce the yield. We aim for a yield of just six tonnes per hectare. This concentrates the flavours in the grapes and thus increases the quality of the wine. In 2006 the grapes were harvested in March at 24º Balling.
