Nooks Pied-à-terre is our exclusive, chic & trendy home, which we are happy to share with the discerning traveler whilst we are living away from Franschhoek. This makes Nooks very different from the usual self-catering holiday rental. Nooks Pied-à-terre is named after our wonderful tabby cat, Chinook, and like its name sake this home comes alive at night. It is a truly magical evening entertainment house - with the right music playing, the garden and house lit up with beautiful modern lights, we believe, like us, you will fall in love with our special home. |

Nooks Pied-à-terre was designed with modern living in mind, large open spaces with high cathedral ceilings, mezzanine levels, over-sized doors & windows, ensuring that natural light and mountain views are plentiful all around this light & airy home.
Nooks Pied-à-terre is furnished to the highest standards, with over-sized leather chairs & sofa, oriental rugs, original art-work from leading SA artists, percale bed linen, luxurious towels, bathrobes & toiletries, and offers accommodation for up to 4 adults in 2 spacious bedrooms featuring king sized beds, air-conditioning / heating, as well as 2 luxurious private bathrooms.
Nooks Pied-à-terre is a short walk away to the internationally acclaimed restaurants, a number of wineries, charming shops, cafes & bars. Commanding wonderful views of the surrounding Franschhoek mountains, Nooks is extremely well located for you to enjoy a fabulous, relaxing and stress free holiday, and is a true home from home.
Nooks Pied-à-terre’s spacious open plan living area features an impressive double volume ceiling with exposed heavy wood beams and two mezzanine levels. Climb the spiral-staircase leading to the TV lounge and balconies, and enjoy the surrounding spectacular mountain views - indulge in that ‘sun-downer’ whilst watching the amazing sun-set.
The light and airy lounge offers a huge fireplace, comfortable over-sized leather chairs & sofa, with under-floor heating. Fold back the bank of glass doors and allow the lounge to flow onto the sun-drenched, Moroccan style private courtyard and swimming pool, planted with citrus trees & indigenous plants.
When it comes to dining, Nooks Pied-à-terre offers you a number of choices. Sit in the shady front garden around the table, enjoy lunch in the sunny Moroccan style courtyard, or take breakfast perched on bar stools at the large kitchen island, or for that romantic evening, choose the dining table set with candles and a roaring log fire in the background.
Relax by our sparkling crystal clear pool, listen to the peaceful sound of running water, whilst indulging in that well deserved glass of Champagne, and enjoy! For those that get a little overheated, cool down under the garden shower.
Sit in the peaceful front gardens and patio areas and feel the ambiance of this beautiful village with its spectacular mountains, breath in the scent of the local flora & fauna, listen to the local bird song, and pick your own fresh herbs for dinner.
Nooks Pied-à-terre features two spacious, well appointed bedrooms (T’s room and Nook’s room) both with their own unique bathrooms. Each room is appointed with a king sized bed, air-conditioning / heating, and enjoys a mountain view. T’s room opens fully onto the sunny courtyard and pool, as well as having its own private front verandah, whilst Nook’s room is private, secluded and sumptuous, with a bay-window framing the Franschhoek mountains.
On Arrival
Our local managers Tom & Heidi will welcome you with a complimentary
bottle of local wine, and will share with you their knowledge of the area
and the Franschhoek food & wine scene.
So stock that fridge with wine, buy in some local produce, and get cooking!
