Realou is a 7 Suite, Guest House situated in one of Franschhoek’s
historical monuments (1868). Realou Franschhoek is a block away from Franschhoek’s best
restaurants and within walking distance to at least 3 of the better
Franschhoek wine farms and wine tasting venues. |

Realou Franschhoek Guest House Accommodation
Each uniquely decorated suite has its own private entrance, and many
suites are equipped with extravagant spa baths.
Realou guest house Franschhoek has 7 uniquely decorated luxury suites,
each suite has its own private outside entrance so your comings and goings
are unrestricted.
Each suite has a selection of satellite TV channels, some suites have
computers; or for those with their own laptops there is free 10 megabytes
free Wi Fi Access.
Some of the rooms have their own Spa baths but all have walk in showers.
Realou has a heated swimming pool with an outside Jacuzzi set in a private
lush garden.
It has all the comforts one could need to provide a peaceful and restful
environment for enjoying the many culinary and aesthetic delights of this
quaint little countryside village, situated in the heart of the wine lands.
The Cape Dutch Suite
A gorgeous and lavish room, fit for a king and queen, all decked out in
gold and cream. The room’s rich textures and soft lighting make
it perfect for a romantic couple’s getaway.
The spacious bedroom area has a huge four poster king antique bed, overhead
fan, heater, fridge, Persian carpets, a Victorian bath, walk in shower,
toilet, internet PC, a separate office, entrance hall and television.
The Spa Suite - Main House
The Spa Suite opens its double doors directly onto the veranda and gardens,
with views of the Franschhoek Mountains.
The freshly coloured, graceful décor is charming and invites guests
to make the suite their home – with a self catering kitchenette
and open plan spa bath that lights up beautifully surrounded by candles,
complimentary bath salts and soaps.
The room has a queen bed, Spa Bath, TV, separate toilet, shower in Spa
Bath, kitchenette, small fridge / freezer, kettle, chaise lounge couch,
plus a veranda table and chairs.
The Spa Queen Suite Cottage
The Spa Queen Suite opens onto the Realou gardens via private entrance.
The rooms have an entrance area with basic self-catering kitchenette,
plus an oversized walk-in shower and modern-looking, naturally toned bathroom.
The bedroom area is roomy and classic, with a beautiful dark leather bed
with white cotton linen for your optimum comfort.
The open plan Spa bath comes equipped with candles and bath salts for
a romantic and delightful bathing experience.
The Spa Queen Suite has a queen bed, open plan spa bath, PC, TV, separate
toilet and shower, kitchenette with (small fridge / freezer convection
grill microwave plus basic utensils, sink, toaster, kettle), leather couch,
as well as the veranda table and chairs.
The Sun Suite
The Sun Suite can be found in the Garden Cottage, towards the more private
bottom section of the property. The suite is equipped with a kitchenette
and unique walk in shower, as well as an entrance directly into the Realou
gardens.
The bright golden hues and plush textures of the room give it the feel
of relaxation and lavishness. Feel at home here with your every need catered
to in an environment of pure olden-world class.
The suite has a queen bed, TV, fan, heaters, a separate toilet and shower,
kitchenette (small fridge / freezer plus basic utensils, sink and kettle),
arm chairs and a veranda table and chairs.
The Honeymoon Suite
The Honeymoon suite is a plush haven for either the newly married, or
those looking for the perfect Franschhoek atmosphere of sophistication.
The room has high ceilings and stunning oak floors, with marble bathroom
finishes and a spa bath, giving it the feel of romance and extravagance.
It opens directly onto views of the mountains and Realou gardens. There
are extra single beds in the upstairs gallery, should guests be travelling
in a group or with children.
The Honeymoon suite has a queen bed, a mezzanine level with 2 single beds,
fans, an extra double bed pull out couch, TV, heaters, dressing room /
kitchenette, sink, fridge, marble bathroom with Spa Bath, walk in shower,
plus table and chairs on the veranda.
The Family Suite
The Family Suite is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom suite with a basic food and
beverage area for your snacks. The spacious rooms are suited perfectly
to family or group travel.
The classic and elegant décor gives the rooms a relaxed feeling
of comfort and simplicity. The suite has a beautiful Victorian bath in
a striking white bathroom, a separate shower, toilet, fridge, satellite
TVs, fans, table, chairs.
The Economy Suite
The Economy Suite is found in Realou’s Garden Cottage, with an entrance
directly into the lush garden and pool area.
The room is tastefully decorated with white cotton bedding and a modern
dark wood bed, along with a cow hide carpet to give the room a slight
African edge.
It has a queen bed, fan, heaters, TV, separate toilet and electric steam
sauna shower machine that is out of this world, a separate Victorian Bathroom,
kettle, veranda table and chairs, plus private access.

How To Get To Realou Franschhoek Guest House
From the Airport on the N1 Highway (recommended)
From Cape Town, pass Bellville and Brackenfell turnoffs. Take the next
turnoff named Stellenbosch Klapmuts and turn right at the stop.
About 500 meters (1500 feet) further, pass over the 4 way stop. After
the 4 way stop turn left at the Franschhoek sign.
Carry on with this road until it ends in a T-junction right after the
railway tracks, at which you turn right. This road will take you straight
into Franschhoek.
Via the N2 Highway
From Cape Town, pass the Winelands One Stop Engen Petrol Station. Take
the first Stellenbosch turnoff and keep on travelling to Stellenbosch.
This road will end in a T-junction. Turn right at the T-junction and travel
into and straight through Stellenbosch (no turnoffs) and turn right into
Hellshoogte Pass.
After 15 minutes without turning off on this road you will come to T-junction.
Turn right to Franschhoek. 19 km over the bridge and once in Franschhoek
turn right at Spar. Realou is 500m down on the left hand side.
