This village is quite central in the Southern Cape and Klein Karoo and an excellent choice to use as your home while playing golf, doing business or traveling to all the local tourist destinations. From here you can explore the scenic Garden Route with its beautiful
beaches, majestic mountains and serene lakes. Acorn Guest House AccommodationThe bedrooms are decorated with flair and style, exquisite linen and
100% cotton sheets. The interior is a delight - a mixture of auction and
flea market finds to oriental carpets, silver, original art and fine junk
- not just another hotel room. The family room has a queen-size bed and 2 single beds
in the loft. It also has an air/heat conditioner and a separate entrance
from the pool with a view over the Outeniqua Mountains. Each has a concealed bar fridge and microwave, a separate entrance with
a view over the pool and Outeniqua Mountains. The pool rooms have exactly
the same luxuries, but are slightly smaller. The shower is also over the
bath.
Acorn Guest House Facilities- Besides free 24 hour wireless internet access, we also offer Air /
heat conditioned rooms Hairdryers and alarm clock radios.
Activities: GOLF Unfortunately you have to stay to play, let us book at Fancourt for you
before or after your stay with us. A few new courses have been added of
late, these include Ernie Els' Oubaai Golf Estate and the challenging
Kingswood Golf Estate in George. It is possible to experience a range of different climates and courses
in the area! Colin, a keen golfer himself, can arrange advance bookings
at most of the golf courses, which have become essential during the peak
summer seasons from November to April each year. Visit the Outeniqua Transport Museum and the Outeniqua Power Van takes you up the Outeniqua Mountain and halfway up Cradock Peak where you can enjoy your picnic in the wild. Do some church hopping and visit the: Outeniqua Hop is a route through our scenic farmlands, where you can visit a strawberry farm, see how they make cheese or visit the breweries, visit a dairy farm and see how a computerized dairy organize the cows for milking or artificial insemination! To the west is Mossel Bay: You may want to dare yourself and go shark cage diving, bungee jumping or sea life on Seal Island. On your way home stop for a game drive or swim at the Herolds Bay. To the north is Oudtshoorn where you should visit the world famous Cango Caves, ride an ostrich, but definitely not a croc on the other farm!! Stunning mountain passes all around you. To the east is Wilderness and Knysna where you can indulge
yourself in extreme sport like paragliding or abseiling. - Knysna - travel by road to Knysna; ferry ride; tour of Knysna; return
to George via lakes district
Directions to Acorn Guest House: Approx. 5km through the town you will drive around the second traffic circle, turn right or follow the sign to Knysna via Courtenay Street. Immediately after the first traffic light at Meade Street, you will pass the White Dutch Reformed Church on your left. Turn left at next street - Kerk Street (Church Street ). We are only 100m down the road on the right - 4 Kerk Street (Church Street). From the airport, turn left out of the parking area
and follow the sign post to (right) George via Route R102. After approx.
7km you will enter George via a traffic circle. From Oudtshoorn you will continue on the road from the
mountain and at the traffic circle by the sport pavilions you will exit
immediately to the left - Knysna Road. From the east on the N2, take the first George exit
to the right of the highway. After approx. 5km once you are in town, you
will go over the rail road via a bridge, after it, you will pass Mitchell
and Wellington Street on your right. The next street is Kerk Street.
