George
Lodge International is a landmark guesthouse in the bustling town of George,
a favourite holiday destination on South Africa's beautiful Garden Route.
After two decades it has established an enviable reputation as one of the most popular accommodation establishments in the area for business people, conference delegates and holidaymakers who want a convenient location, stylish accommodation, excellent facilities, warm hospitality and attentive service.
Ideally located, the Lodge is less than 10 minutes' drive to George Airport and close to the shops, restaurants and coffee bars of the vibrant, cosmopolitan town. The many activities of the area, from game viewing and whale watching to abseiling and ostrich riding, are all easily accessible.
George Lodge International offers the perfect base to explore the Garden Route. With its private oak-lined garden, swimming pool, poolside patio and deck with stunning views of the Outeniqua Mountains, it provides a comfortable and affordable home-away-from-home for business people, and couples and families on vacation.
George Lodge International Accommodation
Guests can choose between B&B and self-catering accommodation in
stylish, individually decorated rooms. Breakfast for B&B guests consists
of a delicious Continental buffet followed by a cooked breakfast option.
For dinner, we can recommend excellent restaurants close by.
Our 22 en-suite rooms have been individually redecorated
for individual style, comfort and relaxation yet still appropriate for
the business traveller, who wants to work in his room. The renovations
included linen, curtains, and headboards for the beds, new furniture,
hairdryers and also new carpets.
For a more individual approach to our client’s needs we have a variety of bed settings to choose from i.e.: single, double, and family as well as a choice of three self catering rooms. With a choice of either a room with a bath or shower, we make sure that we accommodate all individual preferences.
Our rooms are equipped with 74 cm slim fit TV’s with a choice of
11 channels to choose from, for those who prefer work to watching TV,
our room is designed with a designated working area as well as wireless
connectivity is available in all the areas of the lodge.
For the benefit of the our female guests who want to look their best,
we have fitted new hairdryers in all our rooms. We also supply each client
with complimentary bottle of George Lodge branded water.

Single Rooms:
Single rooms have either two twin beds or a double bed.
Double Rooms:
Double rooms have either two twin beds or a double bed. One of
the double rooms has a kitchenette for self-catering purposes.
Family Rooms:
Family rooms have either three twin beds or a double bed and
a single bed. Two of the family rooms have kitchenettes for self-catering
purposes.
Rooms with Kitchenette:
If you prefer a self-catering holiday, choose one of our double
rooms or a family room, which sleeps three, with a fully equipped kitchenette.

The newly-opened Curio Shop, Info Hub and Business Center add to the excellent on-site facilities for guests. We also stock carefully selected souvenirs of your visit to Africa, including home-made soaps and locally-crafted wire items and which have been tailor-made for the Lodge.

and photographs, where guests have access to carefully researched information
about George and the Garden Route area, including restaurants, excursions
and activities, which we will gladly book for you.
We have collated beautiful information packs with brochures and maps to
assist you to plan your daily itineraries. We have wifi connectivity throughout
the Lodge for the exclusive use of our guests who can also make use of
the fax and photocopying machine at reception.
There is ample off street parking for guests as well as security gates
on all the entrances to the rooms. Your security is enhanced with CCTV
on the property.

We will also set the scene for your fairytale wedding or special event,
transforming our Banquet Hall or conference rooms with stunning dècor,
lights, candles and beautiful table and glassware.

Shuttle service at George Lodge
George Lodge proudly offers a Shuttle Service from the George Airport
to George and the surrounding towns in a certified, air-condtioning Minibus.
All transport and shuttles are done using a Nissan Primastar for your
comfort and convenience, all our drivers have undergone advanced drivers
training and hold valid public drivers licenses, our drivers are in the
process of becoming Theta (Satour) accredited tour guides so you can sit
back relax and enjoy the ride.
We focus on individual comfort in our safe, clean and stylish air-conditioned
Minibus. We also offer same day trip packages to the surrounding towns,
Oudtshoorn, Mosselbay, Knysna, Plettenberg bay, Prince Albert, De Rust
and any other town of your preference.
Half and full day packages can be tailored to your specifications for
costs contact our Lodge and let us discuss your requirements so that both
parties are mutually happy and then sit back and enjoy the ride.

Area Information
George is the largest of the many quaint towns on South Africa's
Garden Route coast, one of the most scenic stretches of coastline in the
world.
With its numerous lakes and mountain ranges, beaches and bays, the landscape
also features indigenous forests, amber-coloured rivers and fields of
fynbos (the indigenous vegetation).
This natural wonderland boasts many bird and wildlife species and offers
visitors a host of leisure options and adventure activities.
We are within easy driving distance of Wilderness, Knysna and Plettenberg Bay, as well as the villages and towns along Cape Route 62, including Bonnievale, Robertson, Calitzdorp and Oudtshoorn.
Restaurants
The Garden Route boasts many eateries offering a variety of dining
experiences to suit different tastes and budgets, from coffee shops and
bakeries to fine-dining restaurants. We are familiar with them all and
are happy to make recommendations according to your personal preference.
Outdoor adventure
There is no shortage of activities for the whole family in the
area and the temperate climate encourages holiday-makers to spend as much
time as possible outdoors.
With access to many rivers, lakes and the sea, popular activities include
water sports such as fishing, sailing, surfing, canoeing, skiing and diving.
The rivers, forests, ocean and mountains provide a host of activities
to test the limits of adventure seekers and the area has become sought
after for its adrenaline activities, including mountain biking, hiking,
abseiling, black water tubing, hangliding, parachuting, treetop canopy
or zipline tours and the highest commercially operating bungy jump in
the world at Tsitsikamma from the Bloukrans Bridge.
You can also try your hand at rock, surf or deep sea fishing, parasailing,
kite surfing and surfing, scuba diving and quad biking. Shark cage diving
is offered at Mossel Bay.
Golf
The Garden Route is a golfer's paradise, with many world-class
golf courses between Plett and Mossel Bay, including Fancourt in George,
Goose Valley, Plettenberg Bay Golf Course, Knysna Golf Course, Simola
Golf & Country Estate, Pezula Championship Course and Ou Baai.
Beaches
The Garden Route has some of the best beaches in the country including
Victoria Bay, just 10 minute's drive from the Lodge and popular with surfers,
and the exquisite beaches at Wilderness, Knysna and Plett.
The warm currents of the Indian Ocean mean that sea temperatures are pleasant,
even in the winter months.
Wildlife
Lovers of nature and wild animals have the opportunity to visit a variety
of wildlife sanctuaries in the area, where threatened species have been
given a safe haven and are able to live in their natural habitat.
Monkeyland, Birds of Eden, The Elephant Sanctuary, Tenikwa Wildlife Awareness
Center and Eagle Encounters are top eco-tourism attractions in Plett.
The Knysna Elephant Park offers a rare and exciting
opportunity to get up close and personal with the elephants living in
a controlled, free range environment.
Cango Wildlife Ranch in Oudtshoorn is the oldest and
largest cheetah contact Center in the world, and the Valley of Ancients
offers crocodile cage diving.
Sightseeing
- Book a half or full day excursion with one of the many recommended local
tour operators.
- Take in the unparalleled beauty of the area with a ferry trip across
the Knysna Lagoon to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, a privately-owned
heritage site.
- Enjoy a sunset yacht cruise across the Knysna Lagoon with oysters and
bubbly.
·-A day excursion to Oudtshoorn will give you the opportunity to
visit the Cango Caves with their stalactites and stalagmites which have
been carefully sculpted over millions of years by time and water. In Oudtshoorn
you can also visit an ostrich farm, ride an ostrich, purchase ostrich
leather goods and learn about the famous South African ostrich industry.
·-At Mossel Bay visit Rob Island (and its great white sharks!)
on a boat cruise, hire a jet ski to play in the surf, or book a catamaran
cruise.
·-Take a helicopter tour for the best possible views of the scenic
Garden Route.
