The whales can be observed from the shore at one of the many coffee shops on offer, or from boat based viewing which is an unbelievable and truly humbling experience. In addition dolphins are frequent visitors to the bay and are often spotted quite close to the shores.

Emoyeni Bed and Breakfast Accommodation

Accommodation is clean, comfortable and homely in a tranquil environment; 4 well appointed rooms with en suite bathrooms 2 with shower and 2 with both a bath and shower.
All rooms are air conditioned (Heating and Cooling function) have ceiling fans and TV with all the standard SABC channels, E TV, MNET and DSTV. In room tea and coffee facilities are provided.
Rooms have separate entrances i.e. access can be gained either from the main house or from the outside entertainment / garden area.

Black Room:
Sleeps 2 people either in 2 single beds or a double bed. All duvets are down and linen is of the finest quality percale, artificially stuffed duvets are available for guests with allergies.
Bathroom en suite (shower). Access via main house as well as separate entrance from the garden. The external door leads on to the pool and garden area.

Blue Room:
Sleeps 2 people in either 2 single beds or a double bed. All duvets are down and linen is of the finest quality percale, artificially stuffed duvets are available for guests with allergies.
Bathroom en suite (shower and bath). Access via main house as well as separate entrance from the garden. The external door leads on to a private patio area.

Red Room:
Sleeps 2 people in either 2 single beds or a double bed. All duvets are down and linen is of the finest quality percale, artificially stuffed duvets are available for guests with allergies.
Bathroom en suite (shower and bath). Access via main house as well as separate entrance from the garden. The external door leads on to a small balcony overlooking the pool and garden area.

Green Room:
Sleeps 2 people either in 2 single beds or a double bed. All duvets are down and linen is of the finest quality percale, artificially stuffed duvets are available for guests with allergies.
Bathroom en suite (shower). Access via garden entrance, no access from the main house. This is the most private room and the door leads on to a private balcony.

Enjoy the breakfast of your choice, from full english to fruit or cereal in the dining area. Dinners are served on request and can be served in the dining room, entertainment area or bed room as required.
Our entertainment area in the surrounds of a tranquil and private garden offers a relaxing atmosphere in which to unwind after a day’s activities, whether work or play.
Relax at or in the pool or enjoy sundowners at the bar. Gonubie’s Blue Flag beach just a short walk away is perfect for a stroll in the morning to get you going for the day or the afternoon to unwind after a busy day.

Breakfast and Dining
Full English or continental breakfasts are served either in the dining area or weather permitting at the outside entertainment area.
Dinners and packed lunches can be provided by arrangement. Braai area is available by arrangement either prepared for guests or self service.

THINGS TO DO
- Fishing in the river or from the rocks
- Canoeing on the river for sport enthusiasts or just ambling up the river viewing the many species of various water birds as well as our resident fish eagle which nests along the krantz.
- Gonubie bird sanctuary is within walking distance of Emoyeni and the annual swallow migration is a sight to behold when thousands of swallows fill our skies and settle for the night at the sanctuary. It is not unusual to find blue and crowned cranes in any of our open parks.

- Inkwenkwezi Game Reserve is situated 20 km’s from Gonubie offering game viewing, as well as elephant interactions and horse trails. The Lion Park is situated just outside our city limits.
- For the sports enthusiast, tennis, squash and bowls are on offer at Gonubie Sports Club 100 meters away. Gonubie Golf Course is a great test of golfing ability for both high and low handicappers, where drinks can be enjoyed after the game on the deck overlooking the sea.
We also have East London Golf Club, West bank Golf Club and Alexander Golf Club for the golf addicts who would like to arrange a golfing weekend or mid week break.

- Mountain bikes are available for those who choose to cycle along the beach front.
- There are coffee shops and restaurants aplenty for lazy afternoon lunches or business dinners, some overlooking the sea.
- Another East London attraction is our Antique shops for those interested in browsing or wanting to find that specific item to add to their collection.
- Facilities at our harbour include, a Restaurant, boat trips for fishing, adventure or whale watching.

How To Get To Emoyeni Bed and Breakfast

From Port Elizabeth on the R72 / Settlers Way
Pass the East London airport on your left, from the airport follow R72 (Settlers Way) for +/-6kms and cross the Harbour bridge.

Keep going for 2kms through the traffic circle at the bottom of Oxford Road in East London after a further 1km turn left into Fitzpatrick, 1km further the road becomes the R72 (North East Expressway).

Travel for another 5kms and turn right on to the N2 towards Mthata, after going for 4kms take the Gonubie (1054) exit and turn right under the N2 on to the main Gonubie road.

After 4.25kms pass the Kwik Spar on left and Kings Mall on right (Kentucky Chicken) keep going for a further 3kms and pass the Super Spar on the right, 0,3kms. From the Spar turn left at the second road into Humphries Street. Emoyeni is No 3, third on the right.

From Johannesburg / Bloemfontein
Approximately 70kms after Stutterheim on (N6) at the traffic circle take the first exit left to Beacon Bay, this is Bonza Bay Road.
After 0,4km take the first left on to (M10) at Burmeisters Building Supplies, follow the road which is a winding road for 3.5kms until you drive under the N2 Highway.
This becomes the Gonubie main road, after 4.25kms pass the Kwik Spar on left and Kings Mall on right (Kentucky Chicken) keep going for a further 3kms and pass the Super Spar on the right, 0,3kms. From the Spar turn left at the second road into Humphries Street. Emoyeni is No 3, third on the right.

From Durban / Mthatha
Approximately 86kms from Butterworth on the (N2), take the Gonubie (1054) exit and turn left at the bottom of the off-ramp.
This is the Gonubie main road, after 4.25kms pass the Kwik Spar on left and Kings Mall on right (Kentucky Chicken). Keep going for a further 3kms and pass the Super Spar on the right, 0,3kms from the Spar turn left at the second road into Humphries Street. Emoyeni is No 3, third on the right.
