Yellow Piano Inn & Berg Lengeling Backpackers
are located on a small hill in the beautiful Manley Flats valley
just 20 km from Grahamstown, the 'City of the Saints' with it's
famed architectural and cultural heritage.
The architecture of the many forts of Frontier Country and towers
of Grahamstown inspired the main structures of Yellow Piano Inn
at the farm Burg Lengeling. Using contemporary materials concrete
and bottle art became a consistent feature.
The cottages are each furnished in different themes: romantic
or chaste, afrokitsch or colonial.
Some of them have en suite bathrooms with showers, TV and tea &
coffee facilities.

The Out-in-Africa cottage is furnished somewhat colonial,
most impressing is the bottle window showing a springbok and the large
stunning view into nature.
This beautiful cottage has a double bed and a divan in a spacious room
and toilet, basin and shower en suite. The cottage has a TV and provides
tea & coffee facilities
The Villa Sunset cottage is very romantic with a ‘sunset‘
bottle window. It is furnished with a double bed. The cottage has a kitchenette
and is suitable for self-catering.
Toilet, basin and shower are en suite.
The Afrique cottage is sheltered by large plants, which
make a cosy patio garden. It is furnished in "afro-kitsch" style
and has 2 connected rooms, one with two single beds, the other with one
single bed. Toilet and basin are en suite.
The dormitory-like Monastery cottage is furnished with
seven single beds. The gothic style bottle windows remind of a cloister.
The Big Bathhouse offers hot showers, extra toilets
and basins. It has very big bottle windows and a mirror mosaic.
The Communal Kitchen offers self-catering facilities and dining space.
The stoep faces west to enjoy the sunset and there are braai facilities.
The big bathhouse with hot showers is just across the lawn.
The cottages are on top of a small hill with stunning
views of nature and sky in all directions. The beautiful nature invites
for walks and picnics.
The bush and grassland slopes down to a cosy meadow at the Blaauwkrantz
River with alluring spots to sit down and let go.
Guests can enjoy a relaxing walk over the farm, watch birds and discover
wildlife. Cloudless nights may invite stargazing.
Hot summer days and evenings can be spent in and around
the pool, while chilly evenings in winter are pleasant at the fire place
sipping bone-warming Glühwein.
In our large dining hall guests can dine fine or have a delicious breakfast.
A fully licensed bar and braai facilities are available. Self-catering
facilities are available in the communal kitchen.

What to do in the area:
Grahamstown's cathedral with the tallest spire in South Africa, well preserved
historic buildings and towers, museums, a botanical garden, National Arts
Festival, Rhodes University, excellent schools and the High Court - all
of them contribute to the extraordinary charm of this beautiful small
city.
Frontier Country is that part of the Eastern Cape where migrating peoples
met, sometimes in fierce battle. It is a most diverse ecological region
in South Africa and in Grahamstown it is not unusual to have 'four climates
in a day'. Four different climate zones meet here: the Karoo desert, the
sub tropical coastal belt, the Western Cape winter rainfall and the inland
summer rainfall zones.
