We are a 2 minute drive to South Africa's “Mother City”, dating back to April 1652, markets, shops, restaurants, pubs, museums, the Castle and the famous Company Gardens.
10 minutes drive to majestic Table Mountain, 15 minutes drive to Cape Towns' famous Clifton and Camp’s Bay beaches.

Although we are not in short walking distance to the City and Waterfront - guests enjoy walking to the Waterfront, 30 minutes downhill by foot and City centre 20 minutes by foot.
Coming home by foot is rather tiring as it's uphill all the way back and we do not advise walking at night and taxis are inexpensive and easily available.

Bluegum Hill Guest House and Self Catering Accommodation

Accommodation is in a warm and welcoming double storey house, lovingly decorated to reflect the colours and culture of South Africa.
Breathtaking panoramic views are seen from our open plan kitchen, dining room, top and bottom lounges, large balcony and pool deck, as well as our 6 well kept, immaculately clean and characterful en-suite bedrooms.
11 guests are accommodated in 3 standard size double bedrooms with queen, king or twin beds – all with full en-suite bathrooms with showers and baths.

There is a medium double bedroom with a double bed and en-suite shower over bath bathroom, a small double room with double bed and en-suite shower bathroom and a small single bedroom with en-suite shower bathroom.

- Our upstairs lounge is a cosy, communal space where you can relax after an exciting day sightseeing and chat with other guests from all over the world who are also enjoying the wonders of Cape Town.
- Our African lounge downstairs opens out to the pool deck and has an "honesty bar" where guests may purchase drinks and snacks.

Steps
- We have 34 steps down to our house – they are wide and safe with a handrail and well lit at night.
- Inside the house itself is a spiral staircase to the bottom lounge, bedrooms and pool deck.
- Steps outside lead down the side of the house – mainly used to get luggage downstairs.

How To Get To Bluegum Hill Guest House and Self Catering

Directions from the Airport / N1 / N2
From the N1 or N2 Highways or CT International Airport, follow all the signs to the City Centre. On your way in to the City - take all the Waterfront Exits.
As you enter the City of Cape Town, you will see the Waterfront on your right and the CTICC (Cape Town International Convention Centre) on your left.
Cross over the first traffic lights at COEN STEYTLER ROAD, cross over the traffic lights at HANS STRYDOM ROAD and you are now on BUITENGRAGHT STREET.

Cross over the traffic lights at SOMERSET ROAD, at the next traffic light, turn right into STRAND STREET and keep straight on driving uphill with the Harbour on your right.
Cross straight over the traffic lights at CHIAPk0PINI STREET, this is now HIGH LEVEL ROAD, keep straight on. At the next traffic light at the top of the hill, turn left into OCEAN VIEW DRIVE.
Take the 2nd road to your left into MERRIMAN ROAD - Cul De Sac, follow this steep paved road up around the bend to the left. We are Number 13 Merriman Road - you have arrived!
