Activities:
Game Drive
With 16 species of plains game, which includes giraffe, warthog, kudu
and eland, to mention a few, game drives are a must do when visiting us.
Apart from the usual game, Bushfellows take pride in their rare and unique
animals also, like the endangered Sable, the scarce Nyala, White Blesbuck,
the lesser seen Steenbok and oryx (gemsbok).
With unreserved views, getting up close and personal with the bushveld
from the game viewing vehicles is something to remember.
Animal Feeding
Next to our owl aviaries, two kookaburras are responsible for magnificent
calls, reminding you of the special location you find yourself at.
Included with our animals are Romeo and Duchess, our two Cheetahs. They
were both raised in captivity as part of a breeding program.
Romeo is tame to some extent, but the female, Duchess, is not to fond
of humans. Another unique animal finding itself at Bushfellows is the
Iguanas, originally from South America.
Other animals like guinea pigs, rabbits, peacocks and the koi in our
water feature are also fed regularly Feeding times start around 4pm, depending
on the weather etc, and guests are welcome to join in this great learning
experience.
Archery - On Special Request.
Bushfellows hosts a national archery club called 'Under African Skies'.
Enthusiasts get to practice the ancient sport of Archery through various
forms of target shooting.
Bushfellows has international standard 2-D and 3-D courses, plus static
and mobile targets. Guests with a yearning for the real thing can practice
their skills at the game ranch.

shooting range, Bushfellows caters for those who love the art of shooting.
With two clay throwing machines, we can throw two clay pigeon in close
succession, making this activity a real challenge if you choose!
Putt-Putt
A classic activity, especially for the young of age. We have incorporated
our 9-hole putt-putt course in the African bush, with the ups and downs,
obstacles and tricky parts one expects from putt-putt courses. The putt-putt
course is at our Majoba bush centre.
Sand Volley Ball
Feel the sand between your toes, and although you are not close to the
ocean, the location is just as magical. Enjoy a game of volleyball at
our Majoba centre, a short walk from our tented camp, the Self-catering
units and the bush chalets.
Cocktail Hunt
This is a great way for team building and a fun adventure. Guests are
given a variety of smaller exercises to do, within the borders of competition,
where they attempt their best.
The teams are then given codes on paper, which classifies as a certain
value and then they have to prepare a cocktail and drink a small ‘shot’
from it. This exercise gets amazing reviews!
Helicopter Flips
Bushfellows are in the process of acquiring a helicopter. The helicopter
will be used firstly for game capturing and counting, but on prior arrangement
and special request, guest can be taken for flips over our farm and the
surrounding valley.
Other Activities in the Area
There are many exciting things to do within the Bushfellows district,
otherwise known as the 'Sunshine Valley'. Air flips can be arranged from
the nearby airfield.
Loskopdam, located about 60km from Bushfellows, is famous for its great
fishing. From black bass to bream, and even the usual carp and catfish,
anglers from far and wide come to try their luck.
A boat trip on the dam, which is the 5th largest in South Africa, is
a real adventure. Closer to Bushfellows is Cilabi Ostrich Ranch.
There you can see hundreds of ostriches and the various products we get
from them. Have a ride on one, and buy some tender ostrich steaks.
You are welcome to speak to our dedicated staff who will assist you as
far as possible with information on the above outside activities.

With 1000ha of pristine bushveld, our Wildebeest herd has grown to be
rather large, and the Blesbuck are also flourishing. Another common sight
is Zebras, and hearing their unique call coming through the bush is an
experience to remember.
At Bushfellows we take extra care to preserve special, rare and unique
animals, and that is why we are proud of our herd of White Blesbuck, the
rare Nyala, and even the exceptionally rare Sable.
The eland are also a common sight, boasting with the fact of being the
largest buck species on the African continent.
Apart from the larger game, the very peculiar African Hornbill is another
common sight at Bushfellows, and often seen during the early evening is
Spotted Eagle owls, and the more common Barn owl.
Just spending time outside, one will easily notice the variety of bird
calls sounding through the trees, and how busy the yellow breasted warblers
are around their nests hanging from thin branches.
Rehabilitation is high on our list here at Bushfellows,
and, for that matter, preservation and care of all animals. With an owl
rehabilitation program, Bushfellows has successfully relocated numerous
owls back into nature.
Some however, due to various reasons, have to be kept in captivity and
fed daily. The aviaries they are kept in have been designed to ensure
that they feel at home, even though they are limited.
