Of the 2000 ha about half is used for commercial agriculture where Keith runs a Jersey stud producing milk.
The rest of the farm has a variety of habitats including fynbos, renosterveld, indigenous forest & riverine thickets.
A number of mammals occur naturally; bushbuck & other antelope, porcupine, baboon, leopard and many more.

The area is renowned for the variety of bird species that are found here.
Guests are welcome to take walks, ride mountain bikes, go birding, give your 4x4 a run up the mountain track, swim in the farm dam, tag along with any farming activities or simply relax in the garden or lounge with a book.

The historic homestead dates back to the early 1700's & is largely maintained in it's original state.
The handcrafted yellowwood ceilings, floors and doors are all beautifully maintained. The rooms are furnished in old Cape style

The three en suite bedrooms are in the old homestead where our guests are encouraged to make
themselves at home.
Dinner and breakfast are enjoyed with us in the dining room.
Tea and other refreshments are available whenever you feel the need.

Groot Vaders Bosch falls within a region highly regarded as a premier birding location.
The Groot Vaders Bosch Conservany mountain bike route is regarded among the top 20 in the country.
There are several other routes that can be cycled on the farm and in the area.
1 hr drive to Witsand and the Breede River mouth where whales abound in the winter months and a great beach and fishing spot through summer.
2 hr drive to De Hoop nature Reserve via the famous pont (ferry) the only one of it's kind in SA.
1/2 hr drive to Swellendam third oldest town in SA and the Bontebok National Park.
1/2 hr drive to Barrydale via the beautiful Tradouw Pass to the Little Karoo and completely different vegetation type.
1 hr drive to Albertinia to take a tour of the Aloe factory and sample their health and beauty products.
Many more things to do including visiting wine cellars in neibouring districts.
