Directions to Penguins House
From central Cape Town city centre, take N1 highway north in the direction
Paarl. Exit left onto the R27 the Paarden Eiland turn-off; pass through
Milnerton, Tableview, Melkbosstrand. Continue north on the R27 in the
direction of Velddrif, the R27 becomes the West Coast Road for approximately
28km.
On this stretch of road you will pass Ganzerkraal on the left. Don’t
forget you are closer to your holiday, so take your time. Continue for
a further five minutes until you see the Grotto Bay Private Nature Reserve
sign on the left, Groote Post Wine Farm/Darling sign on the right. Turn
left into Grotto Bay Road and watch out as the sign is after the turnoff,
you might miss it. At the main gate, sign in for 240 Penguin Close.
Once you have entered the estate go through two stop streets, at the T-Junction
take a left and at the next stop sign take a left into Penguin Close.
The property is the first house on the left. You can park in the marked
off area in front of the garages. Please keep to the speed limit of 40
km as there are children on the Estate.
An alternative route, take the N1 out of the city, keep in the left-hand
lanes, the road splits so that you pass Century City and the Goodwood
turnoff, take the left hand lane to the N7. Follow the N7 until you get
the Melkbosstand turnoff, which is on the left, this is the M19.
Follow this road until you reach the traffic lights and take a right hand
turn onto the R27, Grotto Bay turnoff is about 28 km along on the right.
