My guest house, situated in the Cradle of Human Kind, offers a unique experience for those who appreciate the vast views of hills and valleys covered by unspoiled indigenous vegetation.
You will return to the bustle of city life completely regenerated after the time spent in this peaceful, unpolluted environment.
Listen to the call of the jackals at night as you sit around the braai. The chorus of the incredible variety of bird life. For the energetic, take a hike through the unspoiled fauna and flora in the surrounding hills.

The Mountain Country House Accommodation

The Main Suite:
Furnished with antiques and a spectacular view over the valley onto the Magaliesburg.
The bedroom with a queen-size bed joins a private sitting area with a divan bed.
The Courtyard Cottage:
Separate from the house, the Courtyard Cottage has an open plan kitchen and sitting room with cosy wood stove for cold winter evenings. A Separate bedroom with a stunning 4-poster bed and shower. The covered deck and braai area has a magnificent view.
The bungalow:
The Bungalow, on the edge of the kloof, secluded and completely private, has a very special atmosphere. The perfect place for a romantic weekend with paraffin lamps and candle-lit chandaliers. A ball and claw bath on the edge of the cliff and large deck over the kloof.
Sleeps 6 people, 2 double beds and fun lofts with 2 single beds.

Great for a group of adventurous friends who wish to spend time together or for those looking for absolute peace and meditation.

The Mountain Country House Facilities

You are a short drive from the dam and all the facilities it offers - pubs, restaurants, game viewing, horse riding, trout fishing and of course Maropeng, world class visitors facility at the Cradle of Humankind.

Enjoy a scenic hike through the surrounding hills and valleys.
Order a rucksack picknick of icecold wine and food.
Visit the Cheetah sanctuary by appointment.
Take a horse ride through the Cradle game reserve.
Maropeng, world class museum, well worth a visit, especially for children.
Spend a few hours with Jonathan showing his Raptors in flight and feeding.

Or just chill out and enjoy the peacefull surroundings with a Hot Rock massage.

The Mountain Country House is 30 mins drive from MonteCasino or Pretoria, close to Lanseria airport and 15 mins from Hartebeesport Dam.
