Idle & Wild is a working mango farm set in the lush scenic sub-tropical valley on the Sabie River in the Mpumalanga Province (only 250 metres off the tar road).
It is ideally located for day trips to the Kruger National Park, Blyde River Canyon, God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes, Pilgrim’s Rest and various waterfalls - of which most are within ½ an hours drive.

Birding, hikes, bass fishing, golfing, cycling and a choice of restaurants are in close proximity.
Three are within 1 ½ km from our entrance.
eel the warmth of the African sun as you relax around the pool, or pamper yourself in the sauna or jacuzzi.

A full English breakfast is served on the veranda of the main house, or should you wish to make an early start to the Kruger National Park, a packed breakfast will be provided.

You can take a stroll through the mango orchards down to the river where one can picnic or just relax.

Idle & Wild Accommodation

The two stylishly decorated thatched rondawels, with their own private verandas, are set in a tranquil sub-tropical garden overlooking the swimming pool and dam.
Each rondawel has twin (109cm wide) beds and shower en-suite. The kitchenette is equipped with a microwave, bar fridge, kettle, crockery and cutlery.
Braai (barbecue) facilities are also available.
Windows have mosquito screens and nets are provided over the beds. There is secure parking for vehicles.
We also have a family cottage available. The main bedroom has a queen size bed and full bathroom en-suite. The children's room is upstairs and has 2 single beds with toilet and basin en-suite. A cot is available.
The open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen opens onto a veranda overlooking the valley, from where you can marvel at the beautiful sunsets and mountain views.

Luxury Rondavel / Honeymoon Rondavel
This very exclusive unit is also the ideal accommodation for both honeymooners and those who would love to be spoiled by the additional "creature comforts".
This unit features a lovely view across the dam from which the birdlife can be enjoyed.
It also has a luxurious spa bath with a romantic finishing touch.
A pleasure to be experienced, and an experience to treasure.

Directions to Idle & Wild:
ROUTE via NELSPRUIT - Leave Johannesburg on N12 Highway travelling east. You will join N4 Highway at Witbank. Stay on N4 passing Belfast to Nelspruit, turn left onto R40 direction White River and Hazyview.
On entering Hazyview, turn left at T-junction. Two kms further is a 4-way stop, another 4-way stop, a 3-way stop, and after about 800 metres turn left onto R536 direction sabie. We are 5 kms from this turn off on the right hand side of the road. We are well sign posted.
ROUTE via LYDENBURG - As route via Nelspruit, but turn left at Belfast onto the R540, go through Dullstroom to Lydenburg. Take R37 over Long Tom Pass to Sabie. Leave Sabie on R536 direction Hazyview.
We are 38 kms from Sabie on left hand side of the road. This is a very scenic route. Both routes are about 4 hours from Johannesburg.
