Established in 1963 the Hotel Numbi and Garden Suites is less
than 10 minutes drive from the world famous Kruger National Park.
This luxury hotel is the most central located property for visits
to the Kruger and guests have the choice of 3 entrance gates, Numbi
(16 km), Kruger (44 km) and the new Phabeni gate (12km).
With in 45 minutes guests can visit Gods window, Pilgrim's Rest,
Blyde River Canyon and the wonderful waterfalls on the Panorama
route.
Recently refurbished the Hotel Numbi and Garden Suites is a luxury
three star hotel with a “highly recommended” accreditation
from the AA of South Africa.

The hotel is situated on a 10 hectares property in lush sub-tropical
garden surrounds next to the main road in Hazyview.
The main camp of the Kruger, Skukuza is only 60 km from the hotel and
self-drive guests use the Hotel as the preferred base for day visits to
the Park.
Hotel Numbi and Garden Suites Accommodation
Guests have a choice of accommodation; the hotel offers 19 luxury twin
rooms, 2 double and 1 family room. The reception, restaurants, conference
facilities and bar are all located within the hotel.
Then there are the 28 elegantly furnished Garden Suites and all with air-conditioning,
private patio’s and bathrooms en suite located within 80 meters
from the hotel, here guests can park their vehicles at their accommodation.
Recently the old family home have been revamped and this classical old
farm house now offers seven luxury suites in a private garden with it`s
own pool.
Also on the premises of the Hotel is the Numbi Caravan Park and at the
main entrance the Rendezvous Tourism Centre offering shopping and that
is also where the new restaurant – Pioneers Butcher & Grill
is situated.
Bedrooms on the ground level provide guests direct access to the pool
and garden through a wooden sliding door, where the bedrooms on the first
floor offer private balconies so that guests can enjoy the sub-tropical
climate of the Mpumalanga lowveld.
The 30 Garden Suites offer guests the comfort of parking their vehicles
at their bedrooms and the privacy of private patios ensures that the guest
can enjoy the bird life and tranquillity of the garden surrounds. All
these rooms are air-conditioned, with television and offer bathrooms en
suite.
Some of the suites offer additional outside showers, there are two inter-leading
family units, a romantic honeymoon suite, executive suite with a spa bath
and the other Main House rooms are spacious twin rooms with bathrooms
en suite.
The Caravan Park offers modern ablution facilities and electricity and
water points for 36 caravan sites in a shaded park with lawn.
The entire property is fenced and access is controlled, security guards
ensure a safe and relaxed camping experience.

Situated close to the hotel, this new facility can accommodate 150 wedding
guests in a tranquil and peaceful environment.
While seated guests have a view through a large window of the pool area
and can enjoy and absorb the beauty of the sub-tropical gardens with its
large indigenous trees.
A red carpet for the bride, great sound equipment, wrought iron chandeliers
and soft down lights creates the perfect romantic atmosphere to capture
those special moments during the ceremony, thus ensuring an unforgettable
wedding.
Restaurants
The Olive and Vine
A great restaurant prides itself on so much more than just it’s
food. Ambience, atmosphere, music and warm, friendly service complement
fine food, creating a memorable dining experience to which the guest will
want to return, time and again. We enjoy serving an ice cold beer to the
weary tourist at the end of a hot day.
Wild Fig
With the large wooden sliding door and windows open, guests can
enjoy the a view of the pool and tranquil sub-tropical gardens during
breakfast service on fresh Lowveld mornings.
This popular buffet style restaurant is also open during the busy holiday
season for groups and large functions. We serve a selection of 5 starters,
soup of the day, salads, stir fry, potjies, pasta`s, seafood, roasts and
a variety of desserts.
The pool deck is where guests enjoy our traditional Lowveld braai. During
the warm summer evenings with a boma fire and traditional tribal dancers
guests can enjoy the variety of salads, starters, desserts and “braaivleis”.
This dining experience is offered to groups and guests during high season
weather permitting.
Pioneers Butcher & Grill
The Restaurant is elegantly furnished, trendy, modern and up-market with
bench and table seating for up to 160 guests.
We offer a relaxing guest lounge with cocktail bar, air - conditioned
smoking area behind glass , a kiddies playroom complete with electronic
games and DVD movies as well as a safe and secure outside playground.
3 large plasma screen televisions for sport, food and family entertainment.
There is a butcher shop supplying wet and dry aged meat up to 28 days
including all steak cuts.
We specialize in traditional and flavoured boerewors as well as biltong
and there are selected super prime beef grade as well as organic meat
will be served and sold.
Red meat, biltong and boerewors can be purchased from 10h00 to 21h00 for
your enjoyment at home. Guests may select their own size and cut of beef
from the butcher as an alternative to the menu selections.

How To Get To Hotel Numbi and Garden Suites
The location of the Numbi Hotel from Johannesburg is 400km, travel only
250km east to visit Maputo, the capital of Mozambique or when travelling
south to Durban, through Swaziland, this border is 150km from the hotel.
From Nelspruit (45 mins)
Take R40 North to White River (passing straight through Rocky Drift).
In White River, at the first set of traffic lights in the town itself
(with White River Toyota ahead of you), turn left, following signs to
Hazyview and Wildtuin / Kruger National Park.
At the next traffic light, turn right - with the playing fields on your
left and, further on, an open park with a pond on your right - and carry
on alongside the CBD.
Cross over the next set of traffic lights and then at the final set, with
a Caltex garage on your right, turn left on the R40 for Hazyview.
(The R538, via the Numbi Gate, is a busy road and not recommended). Continue
on this road for about 45km, when you will come to a T-junction. Turn
left to Hazyview and travel a further 1.5km, where you will see the entrance
to Hotel Numbi on your right.
From KMIA Kruger Nelspruit airport (45 minutes)
Turn right out of the airport in the direction of White River on the R538.
Continue on this road for 12km until you get to the first set of traffic
lights.
The mosque is on your left, turn right and travel towards Hazyview on
the R40 and after approximately 45km, at the T-junction, turn left, staying
on the R40 and following signs to Hazyview and the Paul Kruger and Phabeni
Gates. The entrance to Hotel Numbi is about 1.5km from the T-junction
on the right.
From Skukuza (1 hour) and Paul Kruger Gate (30 mins)
Follow signs from the camp or the airport to the Paul Kruger Gate (about
12km). Travel through the gate and continue on the R536 to Hazyview.
After crossing the Sand River (some 50km from the Gate), you find your
first 4-way stop. Go straight across, then straight across the next stop
street.
Continue to the traffic lights. This is the main junction in the town.
Turn left, in the direction of White River on the R40.
Cross the next traffic lights and travel just over under 1km, where you
will find the entrance to Hotel Numbi on the left hand side.
From Phabeni (10 minutes)
From the gate, follow signs to the T-junction and turn left onto the R536
to Hazyview. After crossing the Sand River (some 10km from the Gate),
you find your first 4-way stop.
Go straight across, then straight across the next stop street. Continue
to the traffic lights. This is the main junction in the town.
Turn left, in the direction of White River on the R40. Cross the next
traffic lights and travel just under 1km, where you will find the entrance
to Hotel Numbi on the left hand side.
From Sabie (45 mins)
Take the R536 to Hazyview. Just before Hazyview (with the Sabi River Sun
on your left) you will reach a T-junction. Turn right to Hazyview.
Go straight over the next stop street and continue to the traffic lights.
This is the main junction in the town. Carry straight on, in the direction
of White River on the R40.
Cross the next traffic lights and travel just under 1km, where you will
find the entrance to Hotel Numbi on the left hand side.
From Johannesburg / Pretoria (4 hours)
Take N12 or N4 Highway respectively to Witbank and then follow N4 Highway
through Belfast and Machadodorp. After the Machado Plaza Toll follow the
Schoemanskloof option on the N4 towards Nelspruit (lunch at Old Joe’s
Kaia is recommended).
Turn left where you rejoin the main N4 at Montrose and continue to Nelspruit.
At Nelspruit, where you meet the R40, turn left and follow instructions
from Nelspruit above.
SCENIC ROUTE (4½ hours)
Take N12 or N4 Highway respectively to Witbank and then follow N4 Highway
to the Belfast turnoff. Take the off-ramp and head into Belfast, then
right, following signs to Dullstroom.
Pass through Dullstroom and carry on to the T-junction, turning left to
Lydenburg. In Lydenburg, turn right following signs to Sabie over the
Long Tom Pass (the highest tar road in South Africa). In Sabie turn right
and follow directions as above.
Toll Plazas
NB: There are now two toll plazas on the N4, Middelburg (±R27)
and Machadodorp (±R41). The scenic route avoids the second of these
tolls. There is an additional toll between Pretoria and Witbank for those
not using the N12 from Johannesburg.
