Umkumbe Safari Lodge is located in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, considered by many to be the premier wildlife reserve in South Africa. Located on the banks of the seasonal Sand River, Umkumbe Safari Lodge is perfectly situated in one of the best Big Five game viewing destinations in Africa. Umkumbe meaning the rhino, is a rustic lodge located in the Sabi Sand adjacent to the Kruger National Park. Comfortable rooms with bathrooms provide the perfect base for open games drives in Big 5 territory with qualified rangers and trackers. |

Umkumbe Safari Lodge Accommodation
The lodge consists of six chalets / rooms with most overlook the Sand River. Guests regularly see elephants, hippos, buffalo and antelope grazing in the river bed.
Five of the chalets have en-suite bathrooms (with showers) and one has
an en-suite bathroom with both a shower and bath.
Two of the chalets are connected via an inter-leading door, offering families
the perfect accommodation set up.
All rooms have twin or double beds and all have mosquito nets. Most of
the chalets have a small verandah with camping chairs, and with views
of the Sand River.
Family Room
Room 1 is our family room; it has an interleading door to room 2, can
be used as family room or separate and also can be made into single or
king-size bed or put in extra single bed.
