DAKTARI Bush School & Wildlife Orphanage is a registered non-profit organisation located on the outskirts of the world famous the Kruger Park in South Africa. DAKTARI provides volunteers with the unique opportunity of not only caring for some of South Africa’s most iconic species, but also of inspiring a generation of underprivileged schoolchildren to become passionate about wildlife conservation. Each week DAKTARI welcomes a new group of 8 local children who stay for 5 days and are inspired through interaction with volunteers and wild animals. These children arrive timed and shy, but by the end of the week they walk out smiling, laughing and enthusiastic about protecting the environment. This is all thanks to people like YOU!!! This is why volunteers are so vital for the success of this project. |
