Nestled in a tranquil valley and surrounded by the rolling green hills of Ixopo, Kwazulu-Natal, King’s Grant invites you to take a step back in time and enjoy a well-earned break from the daily rush of life.

Tastefully decorated Bed and Breakfast accommodation plus two fully-equipped self-catering suites, weddings, conferences, museum plus a licensed restaurant where one can enjoy delicious country cuisine.

King’s Grant facilities include the St. Isidor Conference Centre, Museum and a quaint chapel, perfect for an intimate wedding or the renewing of one’s vows.

King's Grant Country Retreat

The original dairy buildings and courtyard have been transformed into a beautiful Banqueting Hall and licensed restaurant where one can enjoy a magical evening of fine wine and dining surrounded by flower-filled gardens and romantic candlelight.

King's Grant Country Retreat Accommodation

The original living quarters of the monks and nuns have been stylishly restored and converted into ten comfortable individually decorated Bed and Breakfast guestrooms, plus two fully equipped self-catering suites, accommodating 22 - 24 guests.

All guestrooms have M-Net T.V, tea trays, heaters/fans and private patio’s that open onto gardens where guests are invited to relax, unwind and catch a glimpse of the past. The King’s room is our luxurious bridal suite.

Originally the monk’s lounge, this spacious suite is sumptuously decorated in rich tones and boasts a romantic bathroom complete with Victorian bath.

Wedding

Wander down a winding road and you will come across the old Brickwork buildings that provide couples with an alternative venue for a memorable ceremony or reception. The rustic redbrick buildings stand on the edge of a small dam teeming with birdlife.

Swallows skim the waters in search of food, waterfowl glide about and the call of the resident fish eagles adds a different dimension to the one experienced ‘up at the village’. The venue has proven popular with those couples looking for an outdoor rustic venue with a difference and has been described by photographers as one of the most beautiful settings they have worked at.

The Brickwork buildings are suitable for a ceremony of up to 140 guests. Wedding receptions of up to 250-300 guests can be held in a hired marquee with the buildings being used as a venue to serve teas and eats.

Conference

We at King's Grant understand the tranquillity necessary for creative thought. Our Conference Centre is housed in the historic St. Isidor Mill and includes one breakaway room plus a stylish lounge where delegates meet for teas.

Surrounded by peaceful flower filled gardens and situated on a large farming estate in the Ixopo district, King's Grant offers the perfect venue for a productive conference or any other special function you may wish to hold. Country hospitality and cuisine, together with attention to detail, will ensure a successful time spent at our unique venue.
