These quaint private cottages are set against the mountain looking out to sea in a quiet, peaceful setting at the junction of Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek and Clovelly in the beautiful Cape Province of South Africa. Just 40 minutes from central Cape Town. You will stay in 100 year old fisherman's cottages that have been in the Castle family for over 50 years and are run by Capetonian locals Adrian Castle and his American wife Joanna. A vista of white sand beaches, rolling sand dunes and the Indian Ocean are visible from the front windows or only one minute walk from your doorstep. Southern Right whales put on quite a show during the months of August and September. From time to time we see dolphins flipping and flying through the air and the Seals love surfing in the waves.

The cottages have:
- Up market, beautifully furnished open plan living dining area
- Fully equipped kitchens and braai (BBQ) areas.
- Feather duvets and pillows, 100% cotton linens.
- Colour TV & VCR in each cottage.
- On your arrival you will find a bottle of chilled Cape wine, coffee, teas, milk, fruit juice and a bowl of seasonal fruit from the Cape.
- Ample off road parking.
- 2 bedroom cottages, each cottages sleep 4.
The cottages are serviced weekly or more by arrangement.
A daily maid can be arranged.

No Pets allowed.
Smoking is allowed.

Whichever style of holiday you are looking for you will find this a terrific home base. The beauty and serenity of this seaside area will heal the body and soul.

Things to do in Kalk Bay:
Join the locals who walk the beach from sunrise to sunset regardless of the weather. Early morning swimmers brave these warmer Indian Ocean waters. Surfing, canoeing and sailing Hobie Cats (available for hire from the beach) are also favorite pastimes.

A view of a newly developed wetlands area at the mouth of the Silvermine River can be seen from your cottage.
The wetlands are home to a vast variety of bird life and just a pleasant walk away.

There are train stations in Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek which will take you into downtown Cape Town or the other direction to the old seaport of Simonstown. Close by to Simonstown you hear the Hee Hawing of the Jackass Penguins.
A visit to the Penguin colony at the lovely secluded Boulders Beach is a must. Bring your swim suit.
You'll want to take a swim in this bay. On your way back stop for tea at the Tibetan Teahouse, a great way to recharge yourself.

For those who wish to have a bit of outdoor exercise, rent a bike and explore the beautiful coast line. If you'd like to travel further out, motorbikes and cars can be arranged.

Directly behind the cottages is a path which takes you along Kalk Bay mountain. There are walks in the Silvermine and Cape Point conservation areas.

Also not far are 3 great golf courses. 1/2km to Clovelly Country Club and 8km to Westlake Country Club in the opposite direction. 8km to Simonstown Country Club on the sea.

Not to be missed is a hike up Table Mountain, or take the easy way up via the cable way. The views of Table Bay are breathtaking.

The Waterfront has something for everyone. There is an Aquarium, movie theaters, a variety of indoor and outdoor restaurants, sports bars, boutiques, gourmet shops, curio shops and outdoor entertainment.

This is the spot for embarking on a sail around the bay or take a boat to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela spent years as a political prisoner of the previous regime.

If you feel the need for a bit of relaxation, we can arrange holistic health therapies for you.

Local Aromatherapists, Reflexologists and Reiki Masters, and Shiatsu therapists will come to your cottage for your treatments.

There is also a state of the art gym in Fish Hoek with Yoga, Tai Chi and Chi Gong classes available in the area.

- Banks, a Post Office, 7-11, laundry, petrol stations and a large grocery store are located a short 1/2 km walk away in the town of Fish Hoek.
- 1 km in the opposite direction lies the town of Kalk Bay where you will find antique shops, art galleries and several very good restaurants, many of which are located in the picturesque harbour. Here you can feast on the the fresh fish brought in daily by local fisherman or buy fresh fish to take home.

The local jazz club with nightly entertainment and a festive pub offer plenty of nightlife.

A visit to the wine country is a must. There are three distinct areas you will want to explore: Stellenbosch, Paarl, and Fronschoek. Each area is approximately 1 hour from the cottages with the Stellenbosch area conveniently accessed via the picturesque coast road.

Cape Point is just 30 minutes drive from the cottages on the main road.
