Baobab Ridge Accommodation
Baobab Lodge offers large groups intimate and luxurious accommodation in the Greater Kruger Park. Each of the chalets are a short distance from the main lodge and offer guests complete privacy with the feeling of being alone in their own piece of the Africa bush.
5 x Double Bed chalets with en-suite bathrooms
1 x Single Bed chalet with 3 single beds and an en-suite bathroom
1 x Family chalet with one double bedroom with en -suite bathroom and
one single bedroom with en-suite bathroom.
The chalets each have their own small kitchenette with a fridge, tea & coffee making facilities and a sink. They are comprised of an open-plan lounge/kitchenette area with veranda doors that fold back completely opening the rooms onto the deck looking directly into the bush; spacious bedrooms with luxurious cotton beding and windows on all sides; bathrooms with his and hers sinks, stand-alone stone baths and indoor and outdoor showers.
All chalets have a safe and are serviced twice daily.
Facilities
As Baobab Ridge is taken over by only one group at a time, you will have
complete freedom to plan your stay exactly as it suits you.
The lodge greats you with a majestic entrance that leads into the main building which is arranged in a "U" shape surrounding a large courtyard. The entrance hall leads, on the left, to the lounge and bar area complete with xxx inch wall mounted screen and full DSTV.
On the right hand side is a large dining room and fully equiped kitchen. Baobab Ridge operates on a self catering basis however full catering or a personal chef can be arranged should you require it. There is also a boma area bordered by ironwood where you can sit around the warmth of a blazing campfire and enjoy one of the pure joys of Africa, eating under the night sky.
Our two game drive vehicles are available for your full use and you have XXX,000ha to explore both day and night. We operate guided game drives or self-drive with a tracker depending on the package you choose when booking.
Baobab Ridge also offers a meeting or break-out area if you are mixing business with pleasure. Our conference room seats 16 and contains a wall-mounted screen with DSTV and laptop connection. Wi-Fi is also available in the main building but needs to be arranged in advance.
The Area
Baobab Ridge is an exclusive private game reserve within the Klaserie
Private Nature Reserve which is in turn part of the Greater Kruger Park.
The Klaserie Reserve lies to the west of the Timbavati covering 60,000
ha on either side of the Klaserie river. It shares unfenced boarders with
the Kruger Park which allows for the free movement of all game throughout
the Greater Kruger Park.
Directions from Johannesburg (± 6 hours)
· N12 toward Witbank
· N4 toward Nelspruit, turn off onto R33 at Belfast
· Turn onto R540 via Dullstroom and Lydenburg
· R36 via Ohrigstad and the JG Strijdom tunnel
· R527 via Hoedspruit
· Drive through Houdspruit until you reach a T-junction
· Turn right onto R40 towards White River
· Drive about 6.5 km, turn left at the “Timbavati Eastgate
Airport” sign
· Sign in at the anti-poaching gate.
· Continue on the tarred road for 18.2km until you reach the Klaserie/
Timbavati gate
· Pay the entrance fee (R120 per vehicle- please take enough cash)
· Continue for 8.3km and turn left at the “Joubertshoop”
sign onto the farm.
· Follow the dirt road, past the staff village of grey rondavels
on your right
· As you see the loadge on your left the road forks, keep left
Directions from Nelspruit (± 3 hours)
· R40 through White River, Hazyview and Akornhoek
· Turn right at Klaserie toward Hoedspruit on R40
· After about 17KM turn right at the “Timbavati Eastgate
Airport” sign
· Sign in at the anti-poaching gate.
· Continue on the tarred road for 18.2km until you reach the Klaserie/
Timbavati gate
· Pay the entrance fee (R120 per vehicle- please take enough cash)
· Continue for 8.3km and turn left at the “Joubertshoop”
sign onto the farm.
· Follow the dirt road, past the staff village of grey rondavels
on your right
· As you see the loadge on your left the road forks, keep left
