Attractions
Komatipoort provide visitors more than enough to keep you occupied for a number of days. The main attractions in the area include:

The Kruger National Park
South Africa's most renowned wildlife park. Crocodile Bridge Gate is only 12 kms from the Lodge. From Crocodile Bridge to Lower Sabie is reputed to be the best game viewing road in the Park. Self drive or game drives with professional operators are options available to visitors in the area.

Golf
The delightful Kambaku bushveld Golf Course is just across the river from the Lodge. Own clubs required.

Tiger Fishing
Komatipoort and the surrounding area are renowned for big Tiger fish. The Komati River often gives up a 5+ kg fighter. This superb fighting fish with fearsome teeth is a major draw card to the area it is advisable to engage the services of a professional guide who knows the fish, the water and the conditions. Book through Nkomazi Safari's. Early booking is essential.

Quad Bike riding
An excellent trail with varying degrees of difficulty is available within easy driving distance from the lodge.

The Vintage Car Museum
Visitors to this private collection of vintage Ford motor cars are always astounded to find such an amazing collection so far from a major centre. This is the passion of one man; Oom Herman Nel 34; There are 55 vintage cars in pristine condition on the floor with some 28 awaiting restorations.

Trips to Mozambique
Maputo is 100kms away, Enjoy Costa da Sol and other famous restaurants that specialize in sea food. 35 kms north of Maputo, Macaneta and Marracuene, two small villages, offer the sun lover beautiful clean beaches and warm tropical seas.

Trips to Swaziland
The Mananga Border to Swaziland is only 65 kms away and the larger Jeppes Reef Border post is 100 kms away. A traditional Swazi Cultural Village is situated at Jeppes Reef, which provides the visitor with an insight into the daily lives of villagers. Traditional dancing and a good restaurant are on offer at the site.

Nelspruit and the Escarpment
Our nearest large town is Nelspruit with Shopping Malls and Casino. From there you can go up to the escarpment, some 1000m above the Lowveld, where stunning views and waterfalls are everywhere. Spend the day exploring the area and enjoying pancakes and other delights. You will pass through Sabie, Graskop and Pilgrims Rest, which all have their beginnings from the gold rush of the 1800's. Some of the highlights in the area (Panorama Route) are Gods Window, The Pinnacle, Bourkes Luck Pot Holes, Bridal Veil Falls, Blyde River Canyon and the Three Rondavels.... the list goes on.

From direction Johannesburg
Once on the N17 (N4 Toll Road) you do not turn off until you reach Komatipoort.

At the Komatipoort Turn-off (opposite the Sasol Garage) you have two choices:
1. If your vehicle (including boat or trailer) is more than 2.5m high you MUST take the Komatipoort turn-off and travel some 2.5kms until you reach the Caravan Park on your right-hand side.

Immediately after the Caravan Park you turn right and travel down to the Low-water bridge. Cross the bridge and we are the first and only establishment on the left-hand side (Green gate with two white ball lights) - press the bell.

2. If your vehicle is under 2.5m high carry on straight past the Komatipoort turn-off for about 2kms and you will see the brown tourism signs for River Hill Lodge. Immediately after the second sign you turn left onto a dirt road. Travel 500m and we are on the right-hand side (Green gate with two white ball lights) - press the bell.

From direction Swaziland
After leaving the Border Post you travel some 65kms and will reach a T-Junction. Turn right and almost immediately left onto a dirt road. Travel 500m and we are on the right-hand side (Green gate with two white ball lights) - press the bell.

From Direction Mozambique
After leaving the Border Post travel 2kms and turn right onto a dirt road (Bear in mind vehicle height) after the second River Hill Lodge brown tourism sign. Travel 500m and we are on the right-hand side (Green gate with two white ball lights) - press the bell

From direction Croc River Gate Kruger Park
After leaving the Park travel straight through the town of Komatipoort. After the second stop street the road takes a sweep to the right. Turn left just before the Caravan Park and opposite the Gas/Diesel Depot. Travel down to the Low-water bridge. Cross the bridge and we are the first and only establishment on the left-hand side (Green gate with two white ball lights) - press the bell.
